Overview The Director of Clinical Strategy is a national leadership role within Gallagher’s Innovation Health and Benefits Consulting business line. This position is part of the Clinical Innovation Team, a collective of experienced strategists with deep knowledge across clinical domains, focused on driving cost mitigation and high-quality care delivery. The Director will lead the design, implementation, and management of innovative clinical strategies that improve employee health outcomes and reduce total healthcare costs for Gallagher’s largest and most complex clients. This role is responsible for translating health plan data into actionable insights and aligning those insights with evidence-based clinical solutions, emerging healthcare technologies, and strategic vendor partnerships. The Director will play a key role in shaping client-specific strategies, developing thought leadership resources, and driving innovation across Gallagher’s consulting ecosystem. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, a consultative mindset, and the ability to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions that align with Gallagher’s mission of protecting people and reducing the total cost of risk. How you'll make an impact Program Development and Management: • Lead thought leadership efforts for specific Gallagher clinical industry segments, incorporating market expertise and plan design strategy., • Design impactful cost mitigation clinical strategies, backed by data aggregation and development., • Develop divisional best practices for clinical industry segments, including ROI methodologies and measurement of clinical strategy effectiveness., • Prioritize ongoing innovation and development of clinical and data tools, visuals, strategies and concepts; frequently contributing thought leadership, and case study creation., • Consult alongside H&B teams for large and jumbo market clients, contributing to broader health and benefits strategies and population health solutions. This may include leading audits, RFPs, and strategic discussions related to clinical opportunities and impact., • Support H&B teams in prospecting efforts to gain new large and jumbo market clients such as, but not limited to, development of materials, speaking engagements, round tables, finalist presentations, and prospect meetings., • Demonstrate strong financial and analytic capabilities while factoring in disease progression and population health metrics, • Collaborate closely with Gallagher’s Data and Analytics team to integrate clinical insights into reporting tools, enhance data interpretation, and strengthen the strategic value of client deliverables., • Utilize data analytics to assess program effectiveness, identify trends, and inform decision-making., • Foster a collaborative culture by working closely with all internal teams and stakeholders, relevant to clinical impact., • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, technology vendors, and other strategic partners to support program development and execution., • Nurture vendor partner relationships in specific industry segments as the national Gallagher advisor., • Stay informed about emerging trends and advancements in healthcare innovation, ensuring Gallagher remains at the forefront of industry developments., • Identify and lead operational and strategic opportunities to enhance the Clinical Innovation Team’s effectiveness, scalability, and alignment with Gallagher’s broader consulting objectives, • Train and coach internal teams on Gallagher’s client delivery model and clinical innovation content. This includes designing and delivering resources to help account teams vet, implement, and measure the effectiveness of clinical solutions., • Provide mentorship to team members, enhancing their ability to interpret and apply data in client consulting engagements., • Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning across cross-functional teams. About You Required: BA/BS in related field and 7+ years broad consulting and training experience, including designing, implementing, managing and evaluating customized health promotion and/or wellness programs and initiatives in mid- to large sized organizations. Develop strategic department-level initiatives for AJG clients interested in wellness and health management consulting services and plans. Can design multi-year strategies to offer innovative long-range solutions for clients based on review and analysis of health plan and industry trends and changes, client requests and demands, and results of existing plans. Review strategy annually to modify and ensure initiatives continue to support AJG and client goals based on appropriate market, business, or health input considerations. Design and develop strategic multi-year health initiative plans based on specific needs determined by measurable ROI goals, specific to each client. Effectiveness of these initiatives requires knowledge of the company culture, available budgets and a comprehensive understanding of which activities have proven to have the greatest positive impact on lifestyle and claims experience. Preferred: MBA, MPH, MHA, or other relevant graduate degree A minimum of 5 years mentoring and/or leading a team, facilitating trainings, or coaching A minimum of 3 years project management experience, preferably in a corporate, healthcare, or consulting environment Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, public health, business administration, or a related field Minimum of 7 years of experience in the benefits and health field (e.g., vendor, carrier, corporate, or broker/consulting), or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Minimum of 4 years of experience directly consulting with employers on clinical or population health strategies Proven track record of designing and implementing successful clinical program Technical and/or clinical expertise in interpreting health and pharmacy claims data, with a strong understanding of disease progression and population health dynamics Experience working with data analytics tools and healthcare technologies Strong understanding of healthcare systems, clinical practices, and emerging trends in employer-sponsored benefits and healthcare innovation Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex clinical and technical information clearly to clients and internal stakeholders Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional team Ability and interest in public speaking, including presenting to large groups (virtually and in-person Ability and interest in developing thought leadership content such as white papers, case studies, presentations, and training materials Must be able to travel regionally and nationally, up to 30% Behaviors: Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to partner and consult with all levels of management, Energetic, self starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment, and Entrepreneurial spirit and consummate team player. #LI-PF1 #LI-Hybrid Compensation and benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position.
