Job DescriptionJob Title: Facilities TechnicianJob Description As a Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of equipment around the hangar. This role requires basic mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand tools and cleaning supplies. You will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order in various areas including hangar workshops, classrooms, and the woodworking room. Responsibilities • Use hand tools and cleaning materials to maintain the hangar and associated facilities., • Clean and organize the woodworking room, hangar workshops, and classrooms., • Check and maintain the paint room., • Run errands for gas, repair materials, and cleaning supplies., • Assist in unloading equipment on aircraft and building supports to hold aircraft assemblies., • Support main office areas with standard maintenance work, including fixing items and assembling office furniture., • Check and clean bathrooms, as well as the lunchroom., • Move vehicles in the hangar when needed., • Start each day with a checklist for the aircraft hangar, preparing the area by moving and staging equipment, sweeping, and removing trash., • Support the aircraft operations/maintenance group and general facility upkeep., • Build and store crates, replace lights, assist with aircraft ballast removal/replacement and storage, and repair doors and windows., • Retrieve tools and equipment for aircraft maintenance activities and perform painting tasks., • Engage in woodworking tasks such as building crates and constructing basic supports if aptitude allows.Essential Skills, • Experience with basic hand tools., • Ability to read a tape measure., • Comfortable working in hangar and outside environments with variable conditions., • Comfortable climbing ladders and operating scissor lifts., • Experience with hooking up trailers and using tie-downs., • Experience with basic carpentry equipment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Willingness to learn and a long-term career outlook., • Ability to start work as early as 5 or 6am, with earlier leaving times due to an 8-hour shift.
