Job DescriptionJob Title: Mechanic Job Description This role focuses on building, modifying, and uplifting trucks that come directly from the factory, transforming them into fully customized vehicles based on specific client requirements. You work primarily on the exterior and structural systems of the trucks, installing and integrating specialized equipment such as plows, cranes, reach lifts and buckets, dump bodies, lighting systems, truck extensions, and related components. The position involves mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and welding work, including plumbing of transmission and fluid lines, circuits, and crane systems, to ensure each vehicle is safe, functional, and tailored to its intended use. Responsibilities • Perform rebuilds and uplifting of factory trucks to meet detailed client specifications and application needs., • Install and integrate equipment such as plows, cranes, reach lifts/buckets, dump ends, tail lights, lighting, and truck extensions., • Carry out mechanical assembly, adjustment, and repair on truck bodies and associated equipment., • Plumb and route transmission and fluid lines, hydraulic lines, and other circuits for proper operation of installed systems., • Install and connect 12V electrical components including wiring harnesses, lights, and related electrical accessories., • Perform welding and fabrication tasks, including MIG welding, to modify and reinforce truck structures and equipment mounts., • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to guide installations, repairs, and modifications., • Conduct diagnostic testing and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to identify issues., • Repair, service, and maintain automotive and heavy equipment components to ensure safe and reliable performance., • Install and fit auto parts and heavy equipment attachments according to technical specifications and safety standards., • Perform inspections on completed work to verify quality, safety, and compliance with client requirements., • Use fabrication tools and techniques to create or modify brackets, mounts, and structural supports as needed., • Document work performed and communicate findings or recommendations to team members and supervisors., • Follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area while handling tools, equipment, and materials., • Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to complete complex builds and meet production timelines.Essential Skills, • At least 1 year of experience working with heavy equipment and installations is preferred., • Hands-on mechanical experience with automotive repair, automotive service, and heavy equipment systems., • Practical knowledge of hydraulics, including routing and connecting hydraulic lines and components., • Experience with 12V electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, lights, and basic circuit installation., • Ability to perform welding tasks, with MIG welding experience considered a strong asset., • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostic testing across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams for installations and repairs., • Experience in auto body work, installation of auto parts, and general repair and service activities., • Skill in fabrication, including measuring, cutting, and assembling metal components., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and reliability in all work performed.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with heavy equipment installation and customization is a plus., • Background in automotive repair, automotive service, or truck upfitting is beneficial., • Familiarity with hydraulic systems on cranes, lifts, and other truck-mounted equipment., • Knowledge of pneumatics and related maintenance tasks., • Comfort working from schematics and technical drawings to guide complex installations., • Experience with inspection procedures to ensure completed builds meet quality and safety standards., • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a busy shop environment., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.Why Work Here? Work Environment You work in a busy shop setting alongside approximately 12 other technicians and mechanics, providing a collaborative and hands-on environment. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., with overtime available on Fridays. Depending on staffing needs, you may work Tuesday through Friday instead, and occasional Saturday work is offered on a voluntary basis. Weekly hours typically range from 40 to 45, with overtime opportunities not guaranteed but available at times. The role is highly physical and tool-driven, involving regular use of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, welding, and fabrication equipment in a workshop focused on truck builds and heavy equipment installations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
