Job DescriptionJob Title: Ground Support Equipment MechanicJob Description We are seeking skilled Diesel Mechanics to join our team to work on our fleet of De-Icing trucks, service vehicles, machinery, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydraulics and the ability to read electrical schematics. You will be required to troubleshoot equipment problems, diagnose issues with hydraulic systems, and perform repairs on hydraulic pumps, motors, and related parts. Responsibilities • Perform repairs and maintenance on de-icing trucks, service vehicles, and other machinery/equipment., • Execute preventative maintenance programs on the fleet, service vehicles, and automobiles, including initial repair cost estimates., • Complete all necessary documents and reports, including purchase orders., • Inspect, diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair gas and diesel-powered trucks, automobiles, and other power equipment., • Perform general overhaul, installation, repair, replacement, and adjustment of bearings, ignitions, carburetors, transmissions, differentials, axles, steering mechanisms, drive shafts, fenders, radiators, and front-end and rear suspension systems., • Maintain a variety of records, including vehicle identification, date, mileage, and nature of each inspection, maintenance, lubrication, and repairs performed., • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.Essential Skills, • Experience in diesel mechanics., • Proficiency in hydraulics and electrical systems., • Familiarity with ground support equipment and de-icing trucks., • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronics, and hydraulic systems., • 7 to 10 years of experience in repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technical, Automotive, or Agricultural certification., • Experience with Freightliner, Mercedes, and/or Volvo equipment is an asset., • Proficiency in using office software, diagnostic tools, and other computer skills., • Valid driver’s license., • Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Access Identity Card (RAIC).
