Day in the life Start your afternoon shift by reviewing the production plan and prioritizing critical assets. You’ll be the on-shift electrical authority—diving into PLC logic to diagnose faults, bringing a downed packaging line back to life, and verifying that 480V distribution is safe and stable. Between calls, you’ll standardize components toward Allen‑Bradley, update schematics after improvements, and partner with operations to minimize downtime. Safety comes first, with strict Lockout/Tagout and code compliance guiding every move. Schedule and pay • Regular schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:00pm–9:30pm (CST), • Overtime: commonly scheduled on weekends, as needed to support production, • Hourly pay for this role: $41.20 per hour What you’ll take on, • Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair low- and high-voltage (single/three phase) power and control systems serving packaging lines, utilities, and plant services (air compressors, boilers, pumps, water purification, lighting in production and warehouse), • Own both emergency response and planned electrical maintenance work across the site, • Plan and scope electrical projects independently or alongside controls engineering/management, • Size circuits and route/install conduit to meet national and local electrical codes, • Upgrade legacy or noncompliant electrical installations to modern, safe standards, • Serve as the plant’s go-to subject matter expert for electrical needs, • Drive standardization of controls and power components toward Allen‑Bradley wherever feasible, • Participate as a key member of the plant emergency response team What you bring, • High school diploma/GED or trade school background, • 3+ years in industrial electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, • Ability to read, interpret, and revise electrical drawings/schematics and document changes, • Comfort with diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.), • Knowledge of Electrical Hazard Class I, Division 1, Group C & D, • Familiarity with industrial sensing and motion control devices, • Experience with AC/DC motors and variable speed drives (Allen‑Bradley preferred), • Hands-on with Allen‑Bradley MicroLogix, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix, • Practical PLC programming and HMI configuration experience, • Background converting relay-logic systems to PLC-based architectures, • Understanding of cGMP requirements related to electrical installs (preferred), • Working knowledge of NEC and OSHA standards, • PC literacy with common productivity software, • Familiarity with emergency response procedures (training provided by KIK) Physical demands and environment, • Primarily a second-shift role; flexibility to support 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift for urgent needs, • Comfort working on extension ladders, elevated platforms/structures, and articulating boom lifts, • Ability to reach into tight or awkward spaces, • Standing and walking for 8+ hours within a manufacturing environment, • Not an office-based position, • Lift and handle 10–40 lbs as needed Compensation and benefits KIK provides competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including your relevant skills and experience.
