Company Overview Consello is an Advisory and Investing Platform with offices in New York, Miami, Atlanta, Dublin, Belfast, London, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. Consello's distinct advisory practices provide the complete strategic counsel today's leaders need to grow and transform their organizations. Consello's advisory expertise spans Corporate Advisory; M&A; Management Consulting; Talent; Risk; and Sports and Entertainment. Dedicated teams operate in each practice, led by a leadership group with deep operational experience across industries, business growth stages and market cycles and with an expansive set of global corporate relationships. Consello's investment business, Consello Capital, identifies high-potential mid-market companies and invests capital and expertise to transform their growth. Position Overview As Founding AI Architect, you are the author of Consello’s applied intelligence architecture—the system that powers how insight is created, reasoned over, and delivered across text, documents, structured data, external signals, and relationship context. We are building a purpose-built AI platform for advisory work organized around four layers: a unified data spine, an intelligence and automation layer for retrieval, synthesis, and agentic workflows, a knowledge graph that compounds over time, and an advisor console where intelligence surfaces in the flow of work. The data is relationship-rich and entity-dense. The stakes are board-level. The constraints are real—MNPI sensitivity, Reg FD exposure, executive trust, and time pressure—and the team is small enough that one architect’s decisions define the entire system. This is a founding, hands-on role. You will set the architecture, the standards, and the velocity for everything that follows. Team & Reporting You report directly to the Chief Data & AI Officer and are the technical decision-maker on all architecture questions. The current AI team is deliberately small and high-trust. This is a senior individual contributor role—we will add engineers to the team over time, but the focus of this position is architectural judgment and hands-on execution, not organizational management. Key Responsibilities You will own the full applied intelligence stack, from data ingestion through retrieval through agent output through the API contracts that serve the product layer: • Data ingestion and pipeline architecture—inherited from an initial standup on Azure, yours to own going forward, • Retrieval and knowledge infrastructure: hybrid search, embedding pipelines, entity resolution, knowledge graph, permission-scoped access, • AI orchestration and agent systems: multi-step workflows, tool calling, context assembly, prompt management, output validation, human review gates, • Evaluation harnesses for quality, grounding, citation integrity, leakage risk, and regression, • API and data contracts that serve the product and frontend layers—you care about the full path from raw data to advisor experience, • Vendor stack decisions across models, orchestration, retrieval, and services In short: if intelligence flows through the platform, it flows through your architecture. Required Experience • 10+ years in software, data, or platform engineering, with 3–5+ years focused on applied AI systems in production, • Production RAG/LLM systems with real retrieval complexity: hybrid search, re-ranking, permission-scoped access, citation integrity, • Multi-step AI workflow design in production: tool calling, context assembly, output validation, human review gates, • Entity resolution and data integration across heterogeneous sources (CRM, email, documents, filings, APIs), • Hands-on data platform work: ingestion pipelines, vector and graph databases, data quality, retrieval infrastructure, • Security and compliance thinking built into how you design—MNPI sensitivity, permission scoping, audit trails, • Experience with Azure cloud stack, Infrastructure as Code, and data orchestration tools, • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent depth demonstrated through production systems work You’ll Thrive Here If • You think in terms of systems that compound in intelligence—knowledge graphs, relationship modeling, and retrieval architectures that get smarter with usage, • You’ve worked in financial services, advisory, or high-trust professional services where data sensitivity and relationship context are first-order concerns, • You use AI-assisted development tools daily (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) and understand both their leverage and their limits, • You have experience with MCP or similar composable integration patterns, • Your background includes a high-performing startup or a strong applied AI team—we need both high velocity and high quality You’ll Thrive Here If • You think in terms of systems that compound in intelligence—knowledge graphs, relationship modeling, and retrieval architectures that get smarter with usage, • You’ve worked in financial services, advisory, or high-trust professional services where data sensitivity and relationship context are first-order concerns, • You use AI-assisted development tools daily (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) and understand both their leverage and their limits, • You have experience with MCP or similar composable integration patterns, • Your background includes a high-performing startup or a strong applied AI team—we need both high velocity and high quality Compensation: $225,000 starting base salary, plus annual discretionary bonus.
