Position Summary: The Accounting Manager is a position responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and managing the accounting team. This role reports to the Assistant Controller and Controller and plays a critical part in developing accounting policies, driving process improvements, and providing strategic financial information to upper management. Key Responsibilities: The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the following core areas: • Management & Leadership: Mentor, and provide guidance to a team of accountants and staff, including hiring, training, and performance management., • Financial Close & General Ledger: Oversee the timely and accurate execution of assigned tasks during the month-end and year-end closing processes. Manage the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance., • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, review and analyze complex financial statements, reports, and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to management for strategic decision-making., • Audit & Tax Preparation: Coordinate and manage all internal and external audit activities and tax preparation processes (including Form 990), serving as a key point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors., • Account Reconciliation & Controls: Oversee and ensure all balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations are properly supported, documented, and performed according to policy. Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets., • Compliance & Policy: Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and reporting requirements., • Process Improvement & Technology: Assess current practices and procedures, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function. Required Experience • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required., • CPA license strongly preferred or actively pursuing certification., • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role., • Proven experience in managing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and departmental leadership., • Proven experience preparing and reviewing complex journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis., • Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., NetSuite or similar ERP systems)., • CPA license strongly preferred or actively pursuing certification., • Prior public accounting firm experience is a plus., • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail., • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. This position is not bonus eligible.     The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for assisting in accounting functions such as accounts payable. The incumbent must act with integrity in their daily work and strictly adhere to all accounting policies and procedures for auditing purposes to support the company’s financial success. This role provides valuable hands-on experience for candidates pursuing a career in accounting or working toward their CPA. Fluency in Mandarin is highly preferred, as this role requires regular communication with our primarily Mandarin-speaking vendors and partners. Key Accountabilities: Update & maintain all daily and monthly expenses through spreadsheet Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts payable data Maintain vendor documents and profiles on QuickBooks and other systems Prepare bills, invoices, and payments Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted Conduct clerical duties, including filing, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and preparing documents Assist with other accounting related duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook) Proficiency in QuickBooks Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both in writing and verbally, with management, vendors Able to work as a team player Open to development of skills and knowledge Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
