As we continue to GROW, we are searching for a dedicated, experienced and motivated Senior Accountant with specialized knowledge in nonprofit and Single audit to join our Las Vegas office. This position is in-office (Las Vegas) with the opportunity for a hybrid office schedule. Role Overview: HRC is seeking a full-time experienced Senior Accountant with 2+ years’ experience auditing nonprofit organization and in performing Single Audits. The Senior Accountant assigned to audit engagements will be responsible for coordinating, both independently and inclusive of supporting staff, the day-to-day "in-charge” duties of planning, fieldwork, review of Staff Accountant-level work, as necessary, and "wrap-up" to include preparing assurance reports with disclosures, applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP, GGAS and GAGAS where applicable) and other accounting frameworks, as necessary, and documenting, validating, testing, and assessing various internal control systems. The Senior Accountant will be the primary client contact for assigned assurance engagements, and will also be responsible for the training, advising, and directing of Staff Accountants, as needed, to meet client and self-development expectations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Apply GAAP and auditing standards (GAAS and GAGAS) to complex nonprofit accounting issues (e.g., consolidations, restricted net assets, endowments)., • Manage multiple engagements, supervise staff, and ensure timely resolution of audit risks., • Lead client relationships, addressing concerns and strengthening partnerships., • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing engagement updates., • Assists in developing, adhering to, and educating Staff and Seniors on HRC quality control procedures., • Identify and implement efficiencies to improve project timelines and profitability., • Continuously pursue personal development and industry-specific knowledge., • Identify client cross-selling opportunities and actively communicate with clients to address inquiries and updates in accounting standards., • Manage confidential information., • Regular and consistent attendance., • Demonstrates the ability to learn, retain and apply intermediate-level technical skills with a developing mastery of complex areas., • Demonstrates the ability to effectively coordinate engagement teams and meet deadlines., • Demonstrates the ability to successfully train and mentor Staff Accountants., • Ensures consistent quality and timeliness of work output., • Demonstrates the ability to develop effective, trusting relationships with clients and colleagues and client satisfaction. Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge • Holds a bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in accounting (or similar) ., • CPA License a plus., • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience auditing nonprofit organizations and performing Single Audits., • Computer literacy to include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn software used by HRC., • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt, relate, and build relationships with/to diverse personalities in a tactful and mature manner., • Solid analytical and diagnostic skills and ability to break down complex issues and implement appropriate resolutions., • Works ethically and with integrity, in accordance with HRC and AICPA Guidelines., • Understands and complies with relevant CPE requirements, as applicable to specific engagements., • Demonstrates supervisory skills to include the ability to effectively coordinate a team of people., • Proven project management skills., • Creative problem-solving ability., • Provider of consistent, excellent client service., • Ability to identify and execute appropriate delegation opportunities, with a focus and consideration on Staff Accountant development., • Ability to work flexible schedule. ABILITIES • Gather, analyze data, and devise solutions to complex problems., • Prepare clear, concise executive-level reports and follow detailed instructions., • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and legal compliance in all tasks., • Interpret and implement rules, regulations, and procedures., • Communicate professionally in English, both verbally and in writing, with clients, co-workers, and the public., • Manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and lead a high-performance team., • Make decisions independently and prioritize tasks effectively., • Work with external clients and coordinate teams to accomplish tasks., • Translate accounting terms and concepts for non-technical staff and clients., • Maintain organized workpapers using HRC technology., • Work primarily in an office setting with as-needed travel to client sites; most travel is local., • Sit at a computer for extended periods, handle documents, files, and office equipment.
