Job DescriptionDescription: Sunshine Residential Homes is seeking Behavioral Health Technician Drivers to perform all major functions of our BHT’s as well as assist with day-to-day driving. The drivers’ main responsibilities are to safely transport passengers from one location to another. These can include transporting clients to other Sunshine homes, schools, and appointments. BHT Drivers will need to be comfortable driving 12 – 15 passenger van safely and effectively. Safety is crucial and drivers should understand how to adjust driving to account for the differences between cars and 15 passenger vans. Driving and transporting clients safely is a crucial function at Sunshine. As staff, we are charged with caring for a vulnerable population. Sunshine staff are expected to abide by Arizona traffic laws. Sunshine’s State contract lists requirements for staff who are allowed to transport clients. Requirements: • No revocation of driver’s license in the last 5 years., • No DUIs or DWIs in the last 5 years., • No “At Fault” accidents in the last 5 years., • No more than 2 moving violations in the past 5 years., • No more than 1 excessive speeding in the past 5 years., • No criminal violations during the life of the contract or in the 5 years preceding the contract; and Continued employment contingent upon satisfactory supervisor’s evaluation, meeting continuing education requirements, and continual achievement of all agency’s contractual and licensing requirements for personnel. Outside of driving as the primary responsibility, the BHT Driver will be expected to perform all other functions that are required of a BHT. General Role Functions The DCS’s main responsibility is to maintain a safe, productive, pleasant, and joyful environment while providing support, supervision, and care for the children living within SRH group homes. The DCS will accomplish this by implementing, monitoring, and documenting the daily schedule, directing interactions, utilizing positive behavioral management techniques, and facilitating therapeutic, recreational, and social skills. The DCS must demonstrate positive role model skills and appropriate ethical behavior while adhering to agency standards of practice for clients, staff and the public. Reports to: House Manager and Administration Daily Living • Execute and oversee the HM-Approved daily living routine (i.e.: school, activities, events, chores, homework, appointments, etc.) for SRHAZ clients, seeking prior approval before making any changes., • Attend to the physical, emotional, and medical needs of clients., • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained., • Administer medication to clients per SRHAZ Policies & Procedures., • Additional daily duties will include but are not limited to: transporting clients in Sunshine van or personal vehicle, preparing meals in accordance with posted menu, maintenance, cleanliness and upkeep of the group home. Essential Functions: % of Time Care Delivery • Carries out all duties in accordance with all program guidelines for care delivery as outlined in the Client's Individual Service Plan, • Promotes the independence of all program clients in all activities, • Promotes the dignity of clients by working with them in a positive, respectful, age appropriate and courteous manner, • Provides therapeutic interactions with client in a way consistent with guidelines and directions contained in the Client's Individual Service Plan, • Respects the privacy of the clients' personal space and property, • Maintains confidentiality of client information, • Assists clients with the self-administration of medication according to ALLTHRIVE 365-AGL Policy and Procedures, • Assists with all activities of daily living, toileting and personal grooming as required, • Prepares and assists with the preparation of meals and kitchen clean up, • Conduct housekeeping activities as scheduled or directed, • Shops for food and supplies for the household as required by management, • Escorts or accompanies clients to medical appointments and other activities outside the home, • Maintains documentation concerning clients and home operation as required, • Attends staff meetings for the home and training as required, • Assists in problem solving with Manager, BHT and other staff members as required, • Attends clients’ staffing’s as needed providing input as a member of the service planning team Driving • Transports clients in a company van to medical appointments and other activities by properly navigating and providing safe, reliable transportation Quality & Compliance • Participates in the Performance and Quality Improvement initiative at the agency and program level by learning about the initiative, offering input, suggesting performance improvements, and performing other PQI duties as requested, • Attends mandatory and elective training during the first year of employment and complete required hours each year after the first Miscellaneous Requirements Education/Experience/Credentials/Knowledge/Understanding • A BHT has at least 2 years’ experience working with the SMI (serious mental ill) adult population., • High school diploma or GED and four years of full-time behavioral health experience., • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults such as seniors and those with disabilities, • Must possess a fingerprint background card through the Department of Public Safety, • Must pass a comprehensive background clearance, • Meet all state and federal immunization and communicable disease clearance requirements with or without an accommodation or exemption, • Possess a valid unrestricted driver license and be insurable by AllThrive 365, • Must successfully complete Certified Caregiver Certification within 30 days of employment., • Must be at least 21 years of age Skills • Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills to include communicating clearly, effectively, tactfully, and patiently to a diverse population, • Strong interpersonal skills and demeanor with the ability to build rapport and garner trust with others, • Proficient in the use of a PC; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel Abilities • Ability to effectively engage with people from various backgrounds and circumstances, • Ability to provide consistency and behavioral limits through relationship-based interventions, • Ability to maintain professional behavior in high pressure situations, • Ability to solve problems by applying basic analytical skills to include collating and reporting information; identifying trends and exceptions; investigating to define problems more accurately; sorting information in order of importance; identifying relationships and linkages between components; identifying variable potential causes and effects; soliciting guidance to define criteria and assign values of importance and urgency; and escalating issues of an exceptional nature, • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, • Ability to demonstrate dependability and flexibility, • Ability to work with confidential information, • Willingness and ability to embody AllThrive 365’s core values:, • COMPASSION, • GROWTH, • RESILIENCE, • OPENNESS Physical Demands • Ability to frequently stand, see, hear, speak, and be physically flexible; occasionally sits walk, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs., carry, run and drive; and at times may bend, climb, squat, kneel, push/pull, • Ability to spend 35% of time outdoors, 65% indoors, withstand moderate noise levels including voice levels 90% of the time, to operate household appliances; to drive an automobile; occasionally work alone; work with others 85% of the time
