Job Description As a key member of the Americas Payroll team, this role leads and manages payroll operations across four countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico. The Senior Payroll International Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end governance of payroll and employment tax compliance across the region, ensuring accurate, timely, and fully compliant payroll execution. This role leverages global payroll systems such as ADP Celergo and partners closely with internal teams (Treasury, Finance, Legal, HR) and external vendors to drive operational excellence. The position may serve as a backup for U.S. payroll processing on an ad hoc basis. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Operations & Compliance * Lead end-to-end payroll processing for Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all statutory requirements. * Oversee all payroll tax operations, including pre- and post-payroll activities, reconciliations, and statutory filings. * Validate monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings across federal, provincial/state, and local jurisdictions. * Reconcile payroll reports with statutory filings, social security agencies, pension plans, and tax authorities. * Perform comprehensive reviews of earnings, deductions, pay statements, and tax code configurations, and collaborate with vendors or internal teams to recommend and implement necessary corrections. * Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on payroll legislation, labor laws, tax rules, and reporting requirements for all four countries. * Ensure all statutory deadlines are met with minimal reliance on management or vendors. * Maintain accurate employee records and payroll book in compliance with local labor regulations and data privacy laws. Vendor & Stakeholder Management * Independently Lead regular meetings with payroll vendors, internal partners, and employees to resolve issues and improve processes. * Manage vendor performance, SLAs, and escalations to ensure high-quality service delivery. Audit, Controls & Issue Resolution * Proactively identify payroll discrepancies, risks, and compliance gaps; implement corrective actions before payroll impact occurs. * Resolve tax notices and inquiries in collaboration with vendors and government agencies. * Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, reconciliations, and responses. * Maintain strong internal controls aligned with SOX, internal audit, and global compliance standards. Projects & Continuous Improvement * Stay current on legislative changes and ensure timely implementation of system or process updates. * Participate in system upgrades, vendor transitions, and compliance reviews. * Support payrollrelated projects focused on automation, standardization, and process optimization. * Provide backup payroll processing support for US Payroll if needed. Qualifications Key Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related fields. * 5-7++ years of progressive payroll experience, with at least 5 years managing multi-country payroll in LATAM and/or Canada. * Strong hands-on experience with payroll tax compliance, statutory reporting, and labor legislation for Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico. * Experience working with global payroll platforms (ADP Celergo strongly preferred). * Prior experience in a multinational or shared services environment is highly desirable. Technical Skills * Proficiency in: * Workday HCM * ADP Celergo * Ticketing/case management systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.) * Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation) * Strong understanding of payroll accounting, GL reconciliations, and payroll-to-finance integrations. Certifications (Highly Preferred) * Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) Certifications: * PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) * CPM (Certified Payroll Manager) * Brazil Payroll / eSocial expertise (formal training or certification preferred). * LATAM payroll compliance certifications or country specific tax/labor law training. Core Competencies * Deep knowledge of payroll legislation, tax rules, and statutory reporting across the Americas region. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across global teams. * High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality. * Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
