BRIC is building Brooklyns creative future. About the Carpenter BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival Role: BRIC seeks a Carpenter, BCBF who will assist in special projects that will be assigned by the Production Supervisor. Must be skillful with carpentry and using power tools while also helping to create a safe work environment. What Youll Do in the Role: The Carpenter will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their manager, the Production Supervisor, BCBF: • Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work, • Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures, • Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood, • Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job, • Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations Youll Bring these Skills and Strengths to the Role: • Mission & Values Alignment: A passion for BRICs support of the arts in Brooklyn and a deep commitment to building community, igniting learning and making change through the arts and creativity., • Experience & Qualifications:, • 5 + years of experience in carpentry, site construction experience in preferred, • Knowledge of safety practices when using power tools, • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds, • Must be able to work in a team environment, • Communication & Relationship Building: An emotionally intelligent, values- and results-driven leader who can inspire staff and collaborate across departments and at all levels of the organization, and provide feedback and coaching to support the achievement of goals. Highly skilled communicator and relationship builder, both individually and in large audiences or public communications., • Commitment to Equity & Inclusion: Brings experience operationalizing equity within the Performing Arts and or Hospitality function. Other Things to Know: • Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $25/hr., • Status and location: This is a seasonal role based at the Lena HorneBandshell at Prospect Park. The time commitment for this position is indicated below:, • General Schedule:, • Load In: May 4th - June 3rd (Monday-Friday 8 hours/ day), • BCBF Season: June 4th - September 19th (exact dates to be determined Approximately 10-14 hours/ day), • Load Out: September 21st - October 3rd (12 days, 8 hours/ day), • Mission & Values: BRIC is committed to building Brooklyn's creative future.
