Position Overview The OSP Telecom Lineman is responsible for supporting aerial and underground fiber construction activities, including building strand, lashing fiber, and performing telecom line installation. This role requires the ability to lead by example in the field, read and interpret prints, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production quality while supporting crew operations and ensuring job site readiness. Key Responsibilities • Perform aerial and underground telecom construction including:, • Strand building and cable placement, • Fiber lashing and basic splicing support, • Pole transfers and hardware installation, • Read and interpret:, • Construction prints, • Work orders and specifications, • Engineering drawings, • Operate and maintain equipment such as:, • Bucket trucks and aerial lifts, • Hydraulic tools, compressors, and diggers, • Perform physical labor including:, • Digging trenches and holes, • Loading/unloading materials, • Site preparation and restoration, • Install, remove, and maintain:, • Fiber optic and coaxial cable, • Conduit systems, • Associated hardware and equipment, • Identify and verify underground utilities before and during construction, • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with:, • OSHA / Cal-OSHA, • DOT regulations, • NESC and GO95 standards, • Maintain a safe work zone for crew members, customers, and the public, • Complete:, • Daily production reports, • As-built documentation, • Required job paperwork accurately and on time, • Assist crew members and support overall team productivity, • Restock trucks, tools, and materials to ensure job readiness, • Respond to emergency and outage situations as required, • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, • Minimum 3+ years of telecom or utility construction experience (Lineman level), • Valid CDL Class B or higher with medical card preferred, • Strong understanding of:, • Telecom construction practices, • Tools, materials, and equipment used in line work, • Ability to:, • Read and interpret construction prints, • Work independently and within a team environment, • Work safely with minimal supervision, • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), • Ability to identify utility markings and color codes, • Comfortable working:, • At heights (poles, ladders, bucket trucks), • In confined spaces, • Outdoors in all weather conditions, • Proficiency with mobile apps and digital reporting tools, • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions year-round, • Exposure to active construction environments and heavy equipment, • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs, • Ability to:, • Climb poles and ladders, • Stand, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods, • Competitive wage (DOE), • Opportunities for advancement and career growth, • Medical, Dental, Vision (if applicable) Pacific Tech Communications, Inc.
