About the Role This is a true field engineering role, not IT support and not remote. As a Field Service Engineer – Medical & Industrial Systems, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical equipment in hospitals, labs, and industrial facilities throughout New York. You’ll work independently in the field, interact directly with customers, and handle equipment that requires real troubleshooting — not scripted fixes or ticket queues. If you enjoy hands-on work, travel, autonomy, and problem-solving, this role fits. If you’re looking for desk work, remote IT, or software-only support, this is not the job. What You’ll Be Doing • Install, service, and maintain medical and industrial electro-mechanical equipment, • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs per OEM documentation, • Troubleshoot systems down to the Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) level, • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using professional diagnostic tools, • Work with wiring, harnesses, power systems, sensors, motors, and assemblies, • Communicate clearly with hospital staff, lab teams, and industrial customers, • Document service activity accurately and professionally, • Coordinate parts usage, replacements, and shipments, • Participate in an on-call rotation as required, • Travel extensively across New York (overnight stays included) ✅ Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable) • Hands-on field service experience with electro-mechanical, medical, or industrial equipment, • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems independently, • Experience using diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters, • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 80%, • Valid driver’s license and ability to rent a vehicle, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, climb, crawl, and work in tight spaces, • Professional, customer-facing communication skills, • Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship) ⭐ Preferred (Strong Plus) • Hospital, laboratory, or regulated industrial environment experience, • Medical device, imaging, lab, or industrial equipment exposure, • Preventive maintenance programs and service documentation experience, • Familiarity with FDA, ISO, OSHA, or similar regulated environments, • Military technical training, electronics coursework, or technical certifications What This Job Is — and Isn’t This job IS: • Hands-on field engineering, • Travel-heavy, • Independent, • Technical, • IT help desk, • Remote or hybrid, • Software-only, • Desk-based, • Entry-level with no hands-on background Why Engineers Choose Quest • Competitive hourly pay with overtime, • Paid travel and professional development, • Real equipment and real responsibility, • Long-term stability with a 40+ year company, • Field autonomy with strong operational support, • Clear growth path for strong performers Ready to Apply?
