Job Description Commercial HVAC Service Technician Location: Akron, Ohio Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality service, communicates clearly with customers, and thrives in a fast-paced commercial/industrial environment. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of HVAC/R systems commonly found in large facilities, ensuring reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC/R equipment., • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks according to company standards and customer contracts., • Document all work performed, including findings, recommendations, parts used, and equipment condition., • Communicate clearly with customers, facility personnel, and internal teams regarding job status and recommendations., • Respond to service calls during normal business hours and participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies., • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company procedures., • Identify opportunities for system improvements, energy savings, or additional service needs., • Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in clean and safe working condition., • Collaborate with dispatch, service managers, and project teams to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction. Required Qualifications • Experience servicing commercial or industrial HVAC/R systems., • Strong knowledge of rooftop units, air handlers, VAV systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and related equipment., • EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred)., • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation., • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, gauges, meters, and refrigerant handling procedures., • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record., • Strong communication, customer service, and documentation skills., • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS)., • Factory training or certifications from major manufacturers (e.g., Trane, Carrier, Daikin, York)., • Experience with hydronics, refrigeration systems, or industrial ventilation., • Knowledge of commercial service software platforms.
