Job Description About the Role: The IT Manager will lead and oversee the organization's information technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational needs. This role is responsible for managing IT infrastructure, systems, and staff to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient technology services. The IT Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives, implement best practices, and manage vendor relationships to optimize technology investments. They will also play a critical role in risk management by developing and enforcing IT policies and security protocols. Ultimately, the IT Manager ensures that technology resources support the organization's growth, productivity, and innovation objectives. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management or a similar leadership role. • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network administration, and cybersecurity principles., • Proven experience managing IT teams and projects effectively., • Experience with cloud computing platforms and virtualization technologies., • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOX., • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute competitive strategic plans aligned with Larkin Health Systems' mission of providing compassionate, high-quality care in an educational environment., • Implement strategies to improve patient experience and outcomes related to satisfaction and quality., • Drive productivity management including labor budgeting, process analysis, and clinical/hospital performance improvement with ongoing decision support., • Assimilate clinical data captured through the EHR into health data management strategies and translational research capabilities., • Responsible for IT support services, growth, metrics, human resources, and financial functions across Larkin Health and affiliated organizations., • Keep senior leadership informed of technology barriers, advancements, opportunities, and resource requirements to execute on strategic initiatives., • Develop and maintain IT strategic plans, workforce allocation, and resource management with a forward-looking vision., • Supervise and coordinate enterprise-wide IT projects, ensuring efficient and timely completion., • Oversee analysis of end-user workflow, data collection, reporting, and technical issues as they relate to system design and build decisions., • Oversee build, test, and debug activities for core clinical applications to ensure systems meet end-user requirements., • Coordinate software updates, changes, and lifecycle management including end-of-life planning and vendor roadmap evaluations., • Recommend and independently execute remediation plans with follow-on support., • Lead disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and downtime procedure development and maintenance., • Serve as principal business liaison between vendors and the Health System; negotiate contracts and SOWs prior to submission for approval., • Ensure compliance with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, CMS Conditions of Participation, Joint Commission IT requirements, and applicable state regulations., • Oversee information security program including risk assessments, vulnerability management, access controls (RBAC), audit logging, and incident response., • Maintain data governance policies covering PHI/PII handling, encryption (AES-256, TLS 1.2+), and breach notification in accordance with federal and state law., • Manage Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) and periodic security attestations for third-party vendors handling PHI., • Experience supporting or managing PACS, CVIS, and/or Laboratory Information Systems required., • Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Medhost, Epic, Cerner, or equivalent) including implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management., • Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, and Health Information Exchange (HIE) interoperability standards., • Solid understanding of clinical workflows in both inpatient and outpatient settings., • Knowledgeable in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Microsoft Exchange, and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem., • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or equivalent) and cloud/hybrid infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or equivalent)., • Deploy GPO using best practice architecture; plan and support Microsoft Windows server environments., • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor operating systems, utilities, and application software across complex multi-vendor environments., • Monitor system health including CPU, memory, storage, I/O, and application uptime using monitoring tools., • Experience with backup/recovery solutions and DR testing methodologies., • Provide 24x7 on-call support; must be available during non-standard hours and weekends., • Strong leadership and team development skills with demonstrated ability to manage professional, technical, and support staff., • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a complex environment., • Effective communicator — both orally and in writing — with strong customer service orientation and ability to engage clinical, academic, and administrative stakeholders., • Ability to coordinate planning processes involving management, senior leadership, and medical staff., • Proficient in personal computing, project management tools, flowcharting, and database applications., • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field required; Master's degree (MHA, MBA, MIS) preferred., • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive IT experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role within a healthcare environment. The IT Manager utilizes technical skills daily to oversee and optimize the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and scalable. Leadership and communication skills are essential for managing the IT team, collaborating with stakeholders, and translating technical concepts into business terms. Project management skills enable the IT Manager to plan, execute, and deliver technology projects on time and within budget. Analytical and problem-solving skills are critical for diagnosing issues, mitigating risks, and implementing effective solutions.
