Job Description The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for performing strategic and hands on support for HR related duties in the areas of benefits, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, training, and employment law compliance. Primary Responsibilities • Provides HR support across the company, • Acts as a liaison between employee, brokers, and insurance providers to resolve benefits issues, • Ensure benefits compliance and reporting needed by State and Federal agencies in conjunction with the support from benefits broker, • Responsible for providing hands-on management and direction for the day-to-day operations and administration of the benefits area, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, FSA, and 401K, • Collaborates with the HR Manager to drive core HR process excellence across the organization including talent acquisition, on-boarding, performance management, employee engagement, employee and leadership development and employee communications, • Organize and coordinate recruiting process (create ads, manage on-line postings/ATS, schedule interviews, administer assessments, extend offers, prepare new hire paperwork), • Organize and implement the onboarding process for new hires (conduct orientation, present and explain benefit offerings, and provide employees with a welcoming and inclusive experience), • Assess potential candidates for fit within position (skills, education, competency, culture alignment), • Assist HR Manager in maintaining departmental budget, • Provide employee relations support for employees and managers, including resolving issues, • Responsible for providing hands-on management and direction for the day-to-day operations and administration of the benefits area, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, FSA, and 401K, • Manage and track leave of absences, • Performs advanced employee relations functions including support and counseling regarding personnel and job-related conflicts, problem solving and dispute resolution, and managing employee performance issues, • Support the implementation of new HR policies and procedures, • Develops and deliver various HR trainings (open enrollment, performance evaluations, HR best practices, etc.), • Provide HR reports as needed, • Maintains current working knowledge of compliance and regulatory concerns, industry trends and best HR practices, • Participates in continuous HR improvement initiatives and metrics, • Maintain confidentiality and accurate HR files, • Proven experience as an HR Generalist role, • Understanding of general human resource policies and procedures, • Strong knowledge of employment and labor laws, • Aptitude in problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking, • Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach, • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision, • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication, listening and interpersonal skills, • Understanding of technology teams and how to grow and develop technology leaders, • Must be well organized to meet heavy workloads and be able to effectively manage multiple tasks, • Requires experience with various computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HRIS), • Must demonstrate strong ethics, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively manage stress, • Desire to learn with natural initiative and curiosity, • Excellent presentation skills and knowledge of employment laws such as ERISA, COBRA, ADA, and other Federal and State laws covering discrimination and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), • 7- 10 years of experience in a HR Generalist role, • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent post-secondary degree preferred, or equivalent experience, • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certifications preferred, • Prior construction experience preferred, • Must be fluent in English and Spanish The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
