Position Summary Department IT *U.S. work authorization required; no visa sponsorship available. * The Salesforce Developer/Engineer will play a critical role in the success of Valley Strong's mission critical Salesforce platform. As an integral part of the credit union's Salesforce Center of Excellence (COE), the Salesforce Developer/Engineer will work closely with the COE leadership to implement, deliver and support complex business solutions leveraging the Salesforce platform. The ideal candidate would have significant Salesforce technical experience and abilities with and related ecosystem. The candidate will utilize their Salesforce development and engineering expertise to drive innovation at Valley Strong Credit Union to simplify, transform and grow Valley Strong. Qualified candidates must have proven experience in Apex, Flows, Lightning (Aura and LWC), Sales and Service Cloud and be well versed in standard software development best practices. Experience with OmniStudio, Financial Services Cloud and Experience Cloud preferred. Essential Duties • Key Responsibilities, • Build scalable solutions using LWC, Apex, and Flows; optimize for governor limits and performance., • Design, configure, and implement solutions leveraging OmniStudio tools and Financial Services Cloud features to meet business requirements and enhance customer experiences., • Implement Omni-Channel for Chat/SMS, Digital Engagement, and Genesys Cloud CTI integration., • Design and maintain integrations with middleware systems like MuleSoft and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Named Credentials, and event-driven patterns., • Apply Salesforce Shield (Platform Encryption, Event Monitoring, Field Audit Trail) and enforce secure development practices., • Use Git, VS Code, SFDX, and CI/CD pipelines for deployments; maintain documentation and version control standards., • Write robust unit tests (Apex, LWC Jest), conduct peer reviews, and ensure adherence to coding best practices., • Partner with stakeholders to refine backlog, mentor admins, and proactively identify improvements and automation opportunities., • Required Skills, • Strong experience with LWC, Apex, Flows, and OmniStudio components., • Hands-on with FSC, Omni-Channel, Digital Engagement, and CTI integrations., • Integration expertise with MuleSoft or similar API-led patterns., • Familiarity with Salesforce Shield, Scheduler, and data security principles., • Proficiency in Git, SFDX, and CI/CD processes., • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a small team environment., • Preferred Skills, • Certifications: Platform Developer I (required), Developer II, OmniStudio Developer, FSC Accredited Professional., • Experience with Gearset/Github/Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tools., • Culture & Expectations, • Follow coding standards and DevOps best practices., • Take initiative - own features from design to production., • Share knowledge and mentor teammates when needed., • Performs other duties as assigned. Education Min/Preferred Education Level Description Minimum 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience Preferred Other Hold or obtain the following Certifications: • Certified Platform Developer I, • Certified Platform Developer II,, • Certified Salesforce Administrator, • Certified Omnistudio Developer Experience Minimum Years of Experience Comments 5 5+ years’ experience in Software Development 5 5+ years of experience preferred in Salesforce development including Apex Classes, Flows, Triggers, SOQL, SOSL and Lightning components (Aura and LWC) 5 Understanding of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations 2 Experience with agile development methodology and working with the business and the Salesforce product owner to improve and enhance Salesforce. Experience with Jira and Confluence or other Agile development tool 3 Experience with technologies that work with Salesforce, JavaScript, Web Services, REST and SOAP APIs 5 Good understanding of the following Salesforce specific areas: • Data structures and database schema, • Salesforce Lightning Framework, Apex and Flows, • Product knowledge: Salesforce Sales, Service, and Marketing Clouds, • Familiarity with Financial Services Cloud, Experience Cloud & MuleSoft preferred Experience working with source control development and version control system such as Git. Knowledge of DevOps and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) processes. Familiar with Dev Ops tools such as Gearset, AutoRabbit, Compado or others 5 Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Members and other Team Members at the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute dividends and interest. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
