American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/10/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Acute care hospital emergency department (ED) with Trauma Level 1 designation, • Patient population includes trauma, burns, cardiac, spinal cord, and high-acuity emergencies; pediatric and burns transferred out, • Census of 88,000 patients per year with 250-300 seen daily, • 36 acute beds, 54 subacute beds, and 6 trauma bays (no travelers in trauma bays), • Patient ratio is 1:4, • Utilizes Cerner EMR; Cerner experience required, • Philips telemetry monitors used; must be able to interpret rhythm strips, • Night shifts, 12 hours in length, with 4 weekend shifts per month and 2 of 4 major holidays required, • Float between main campus, Westgate ER, and two freestanding ERs within 30 miles (may float midshift), • Orientation includes 12 hours and 2-3 floor-specific shifts, • Daily duties include emergency assessment and interventions for high-acuity patients in a fast-paced trauma environment, • Team includes 2 charge RNs, 4 PCTs, 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy, with hospitalists, intensivists, and anesthesia in-house, • Must complete a pass/fail sterile technique and SIMs skills lab on day one of orientation; inability to maintain sterile field will result in termination, • Additional educational modules include lifts, restraints, and wound care, • Dress code is navy scrubs, • Holiday coverage required for at least half of the major holidays, • Returning employees must not have worked in a CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility as a direct employee within the past year, • Travel teams must have their own transportation to accommodate floating among sites\n \n Requirements\n, • Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of application, • At least 2 years of ED RN experience required, • Minimum 1 year of Trauma Level 1 experience as permanent staff and as traveler; will consider 8+ months of recent Level 1 experience, • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required, • Cerner EMR experience within recent work history required, • Must pass DYS (Dysrhythmia) exam prior to acceptance, with two attempts permitted, • No first-time travelers will be considered for this position, • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility as verified by driver's license, • Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing, • Copy of driver's license required for consideration\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
