American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona. • Specialty: CVICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 10/27/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring Level I trauma experience and strong critical care skills. • Work in a 24-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within an acute care Level I trauma hospital, • Care for post-cardiac surgery patients, Empella, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, thoracic, ECMO, esophagectomy, lobectomy, pneumectomy, and TAVR cases, • Patient ratios are primarily 1:1 to 1:2, with higher acuity requiring more intensive nurse support, • Use Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry systems, • 12-hour day shifts with 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule and coverage for 2 out of 4 major holidays, • Floating required to other ICUs and tele units where the typical ratio is 4:1, with travelers floating first before staff, • Must be willing to float to other hospital campuses as needed, • No IV team support; strong independent IV skills are necessary, • This role involves frequent bedside procedures such as bronchoscopy, Swan-Ganz catheter placement, and epidural management, • Care is provided alongside a designated charge nurse, 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support, and in-house intensivist coverage during days, • Nurses must maintain natural hair color and have no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing, • Navy scrub uniforms are required, • Orientation includes a 12-hour SIMs Lab and 2 days of unit-specific training, • Initial pass/fail exams include sterile technique and critical clinical skills; failure after two attempts results in a six-month ineligibility for further assignments in the associated health system, • Returning staff must not have worked for any facility in the health system (including PRN) within the past year, except those employed PRN by outside agencies, • Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration, • Minimum 2 years recent ICU nursing experience, CVICU experience preferred, • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; CCRN preferred, • Level I trauma experience required, • Ability to pass a dysrhythmia (Relias) exam prior to offer; two attempts allowed, • Must pass a SIMs Lab skills assessment on day one for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, • Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years, • Must provide a valid driver's license for address verification (50-mile radius rule applies for eligibility), • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-613841.
