Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/13/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 13, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Position is based in the Emergency Department, primarily covering ED hold patients in a Med/Tele capacity, • 874-bed Magnet-designated Level I Trauma teaching hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center, • 43 ED beds and 20 boarding beds, • Patient population includes trauma (GSW, stabbings, MVA, falls), stroke, heart failure, chest pain, COPD, ETOH/CIWA, mental health, GI disorders, liver failure, AKI/CKD, and more, • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 max (acuity dependent), • EMR: Epic (experience required), • Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors, • Nurses are responsible for reading telemetry monitors — no monitoring tech on unit, • 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0700, 36 hours per week, • Every other weekend rotation required, • Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays, • No on-call responsibilities, • Floating required throughout Region 1, which includes multiple facilities across the division — candidates unwilling to float should not applyRequirements, • Active NC or compact RN license required, • Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele or ED RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year, • Required certifications for Med/Tele RN role: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, • Strong Med/Tele skillset required, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke care, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, Flexiseals, Foley), and PCA pumps, • Medication drip management required, including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF, • Candidate's permanent address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted, • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration, • Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RNAdditional Information, • Travelers are most commonly placed as Med/Tele RNs covering ED hold patients, • Department support includes CNAs, a receptionist/HUC, 24/7 charge nurse, phlebotomy (peripheral draws only), IV/VAT team, resource nurse (as available), respiratory therapy (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), and intensivist (24/7), • Orientation includes a new employee orientation (NEO) session plus 2 days of departmental orientation, • Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, • Scrubs: Navy, • Parking is free, • First-time travelers are not preferred but will be considered With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
