CHI is looking for a full and part-time Resident Support Specialist (RSS) for our Commack location. You will provide a safe, structured, and supervised environment for CHI residents and staff. The RSS coordinates and verifies client movement in the facility while also monitoring the client conduct and overall behavior during tour of duty. This is accomplished by performing the following functions: • Maintain visibility to residents, staff, and visitors by wearing a safety monitor vest, ID badge, and professional attire., • Screen all clients and visitors entering the facility., • Perform bag searches upon intake and as required., • Ensure clients abide by the facility, DSS, and OTDA policies and procedures., • De-escalate potential crisis situations and document all interventions., • Conduct rounds throughout the facility including hallways, stairwells, floors, bathrooms, and other common areas., • Complete logs, incident reports, and all other required documentation., • Perform administrative and receptionist duties at the operations/front desk., • Monitor video surveillance cameras, fire prevention, detection alarm, and notification system., • Support the running of fire drills; evacuate the building when necessary, utilize fire safety procedures., • Assist with room preparation and turnover for new clients., • Maintain inventory of cleaning and office supplies and ensure proper distribution., • Inform management of work site’s physical condition (i.e. dangerous conditions, possible repair needs, supply needs, etc.)., • Support afterschool/evening activities as needed. ANYTHING ELSE? • Salary: $19.00 an hour (approximately $39,520 annually), • Overtime available WHAT DO I NEED? • Education: High School Diploma or GED required., • Experience: 1-2 years of experience working in related field preferred., • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus., • Computer Skills: Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, and internet usage., • Physical Performance: Ability to tour property, walk distances, and climb stairs., • Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls, and perform proper notifications., • Other Skills: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details. You potentially clarify what the patient may have heard or "think" they heard., • Help patients understand their dental insurance benefits. This is in collaboration with our Dental Insurance team who are readily available to assist you. Accurately calculate how much insurance will pay for the cost of their needed care. Review with patients their financial responsibility based on any Insurance pre-determinations., • "Check out" any Hygiene patients or dental patients to assist front desk., • Work with outside patient care financing companies to give our patients a wide range of financial options. Be confirmable to help our patients know the differences between the companies., • Send Pre-determinations to Patient's Insurance companies. Keeping an eye on their timely return to move forward with patient's care., • Collaborate with our financial team to address and collect patient balances when they are set to return to the Practice for care., • Ability to respond to live chats or website leads as they may come thru during the day. Making those calls timely., • Comfortable with keeping up to date with email communications as the day goes on., • In a professional manner being able to hold space for anxious patients during the check out process, as well as, being their advocate to properly explain their financial responsibilities., • Answer incoming calls when appropriate, not with a patient, as calls may come thru our Call Center., • Correctly schedule future appointments for patients checking out to ensure doctors and hygienists are focusing on caring for our patients. Ensuring patient's are scheduled with the future time needed for their treatment., • Answer treatment questions patients have both before and after their visit., • With an attentive eye working daily on the Hygiene schedule making sure when last minute cancellations happen, we find another patient to move into the appointment slot now available. Manage the hygiene schedule according to our appointment scheduling guidelines to ensure all hours are scheduled efficiently and to reach daily hourly or daily goals., • Mentoring new team members when comfortable and can create value., • Follow up via email or text with patients who havent scheduled their treatment yet., • Ensuring our payment policy is being honored when patients are scheduled., • Comfortable to ask a happy patient to share their feedback online in a review, or refer a friend to the Practice if they know anyone looking for a new dental home. Coordinate with front office for patient scheduling, referrals, and treatment planning support., • Clean and maintain dental equipment; report any issues for repair promptly., • Set up operatory, set up trays and materials needed for sedation cases.
