This role ensures payroll integrity, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and data accuracy across compensation, benefits, and employment records. In addition to payroll administration, this role supports HR operations including recruitment coordination, E-Verify administration, employment compliance, and annual audits (Workers’ Compensation and 401(k)). The ideal candidate brings strong technical payroll expertise combined with a solid HR compliance background and working knowledge of federal, Arizona, and local employment laws. This position operates in a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment and requires precision, discretion, and strong cross-departmental collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Administration (Primary Function) • Process biweekly payroll for approximately 150 employees using ADP Workforce Now, including full utilization of the Time & Attendance module., • Audit timecards for accuracy, overtime compliance, shift differentials, PTO usage, and premium pay calculations., • Ensure proper application of federal and Arizona wage and hour laws (FLSA, overtime, minimum wage, etc.)., • Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with record retention requirements., • Prepare, reconcile, and submit payroll for review and approval;, • Validate earnings, deductions, garnishments, benefit contributions, and tax withholdings., • Manage off-cycle payrolls, final paychecks, retroactive adjustments, and corrections., • Support payroll tax filings and quarterly and year-end activities (W-2 processing, year-end balancing)., • Sets up and maintains employee garnishments., • Maintain employee data integrity within ADP Workforce Now., • Serve as primary liaison with ADP for payroll-related system issues. Employment Law & Policy Compliance • Maintain working knowledge of federal, Arizona, and applicable local employment laws., • Ensure compliance in areas including:, • Wage and hour, • Leave laws (FMLA), • Garnishments and withholding orders, • Final pay requirements, • Assist with handbook updates and policy interpretation as needed., • Ensure compliance with federal and Arizona final pay timing requirements, • Monitor payroll practices to mitigate wage claim risk exposure Compliance & Audit Responsibilities • Participate in annual Workers’ Compensation audits, including payroll classification validation and reporting., • Support and coordinate annual 401(k) audits, ensuring accurate census data and contribution reconciliation., • Ensure payroll and benefit deductions align with plan documents and ERISA requirements., • Maintain audit-ready payroll and HR documentation. HR Operations • Support full-cycle recruitment activities including candidate tracking, offer letter preparation, and onboarding administration., • Assist in the administration of E-Verify and ensure proper Form I-9 completion and retention compliance., • Execute internal reporting, headcount tracking, and HR analytics., • Partner with HR leadership to support annual open enrollment and performance review processes Skills and Requirements: Required • Must be ITAR compliant (US citizen or legal permanent resident), • 3–5+ years of payroll processing experience., • Direct experience processing payroll in ADP Workforce Now, including Time & Attendance., • Experience conducting Workers’ Compensation and/or 401(k) audits., • Strong understanding of federal and Arizona employment law., • 3+ years of HR related experience, • Experience with E-Verify and I-9 compliance., • High level of accuracy and attention to detail., • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information., • Advanced Excel proficiency (reconciliations, data validation, reporting). Preferred • Experience in manufacturing or aerospace environment., • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification., • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or related field., • Experience supporting internal or external audits.
