Job Description Job Purpose: The Director of Operations (DO) is responsible for overseeing Siena Francis House’s campus operations, ensuring that daily activities run efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with organizational priorities. The DO is accountable for back-of-house operations, including food services, material assistance, dock areas, and related reporting. This role implements processes and procedures that improve organizational performance and align with nonprofit best practices, fostering collaboration across departments. Essential Functions / Job Duties: • Plan, develop, and implement operational strategies to meet organizational goals, budgets, and timelines., • Ensure operations comply with quality standards, health and safety regulations, and nonprofit best practices, including accreditation requirements., • Oversee reporting for food services and meal programs., • Monitor, assess, and report on operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvement., • Manage departmental budgets and expenditures., • Contribute to organizational strategy and performance improvement in partnership with leadership., • Establish and maintain archives and institutional knowledge for operational programs and procedures., • Develop and maintain short- and long-term goals, policies, and procedures for operations., • Oversee day-to-day performance of direct and indirect reports, including kitchen, dock, maintenance, IT, and cleaning vendors., • Assist with IT operations, working with vendors and coordinating internal IT support., • Manage oversight of cleaning vendors and vehicle assets., • Promote collaboration between departments, staff, and leadership to ensure smooth and effective operations., • Support initiatives including accreditation, guidelines and principles compliance, and other organizational priorities., • Proven experience in process improvement, change leadership, and change management., • Strong commitment to results with a “can-do” mindset and accountability focus., • Ability to recruit, train, and manage staff across multiple functions., • Ability to assimilate complex information across departments and provide guidance to senior staff., • Skilled in creative problem-solving and implementing decisions effectively., • Demonstrated leadership and motivational abilities., • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and morale., • Effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
