Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: • Perform engineering analysis, testing and technical reporting, • Conduct field investigations and perform failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of vehicles and mechanical equipment, • Conduct vehicular accident reconstruction and mechanical failure analysis, • Perform calculations and computer analyses and simulations, • Investigate design, safety and failure of machinery, mechanical and material systems, • Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in writing, • Responsible for retention and development of client relationships, • Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups, • Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal or other proceedings, • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, • Accept and integrate constructive feedback Position Requirements: • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, • Ability to obtain P. E. registration through testing within 12 months, • NHTSA or Vehicle Safety background is a plus, • Several years of post-academic engineering experience in automotive design, testing vehicle dynamics, and/or related disciplines, • General knowledge of design, safety, machinery, mechanical, or other equipment is a plus, • Vehicle knowledge and desire to learn Vehicular Accident Reconstruction and Failure Analysis is a must, • Strong written and oral communication skills, • Computer skills with spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software is a must, • Computer aided drawing skills is a plus, • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, • Ability to travel 25% of the time, largely by vehicle, • Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site, • Ability to lift 50 lbs., • Ability to drive to site locations in all conditions, • Ability to travel by airline, • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues, • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site Benefits: • Extensive forensic training, • Medical coverage, • Dental & vision coverage, • 401(k) with company match, • Paid vacation, sick days and holidays, • Company-paid STD, LTD and life insurance, • Tuition Reimbursement Program
