Job Description This company has a mandatory vaccination policy. The Payroll Coordinator is a mid-level position that is responsible for performing all activities necessary to process payroll including, but not limited to, collecting employee timekeeping and expense information, maintaining related records, handling any employee concerns and questions regarding payroll, investigating any payroll errors in a timely manner, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for management. This position will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of each payroll while also maintaining compliance with labor and prevailing wage laws. Job Description: · Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive or private company, project, and personnel information. · Safeguarding all corporate assets and maintaining proper internal controls. · Reviewing and ensuring accuracy of all employment documents of new hires as they pertain to payroll. · Creating and maintaining electronic personnel records. · Recording and updating tax withholding and bank information as needed. · Maintaining payroll information of all current employees, as well as proper closeout of terminated employees. · Ensuring accurate preparation for weekly timecards, including pay rate, time off and reimbursements. · Utilizing system (software and web portal) to process weekly payrolls on time. · Providing training to employees on the use of the employee portal. · Handling employee payroll questions or concerns, and escalating to PR Supervisor if needed. · Ensuring proper documentation for weekly payrolls as required by law. · Auditing payroll records to ensure compliance with labor and tax laws, as well as prevailing wage regulations and union agreements. · Handling corrections to payroll and processing time owed. · Performing OCIP/CCIP monthly reporting. · Performing prevailing wage weekly reporting. · Reviewing and reconciling payroll taxes. · Tracking union dues and preparing monthly reporting for Carpenters and Drywall unions. · Reviewing and recording weekly 401(k) contributions/matching. · Processing and maintaining new and current wage garnishments. · Performing annual archiving of payroll records. · Maintaining payroll manual so that it is always current and comprehensible. Education: · Associate degree in accounting or related field, or Fundamental Payroll Certification, or Certified Payroll Professional, or equivalent experience. · Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management, or related field. Experience: · Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in payroll.
