Description: Title: Scrum Master Location: Remote- available to come onsite to Philly 2-4x a year for PI Planning. Work schedule hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. eastern standard time. Duration: 5 months with potential to extend About the Role We are seeking a dynamic, data-oriented Scrum Master to join our agile delivery team and drive the development of impactful data and analytics solutions. As a lead member of the scrum team, you will collaborate closely with business analysts, BI developers, report consumers, and data and BI architects to translate product and business vision into actionable roadmap items and refined backlog items that align with our long-term data strategy. This is a hands-on role that combines strong technical skills, strategic thinking, and excellent communication. You will be responsible for guiding the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and insightful data products while ensuring continuous alignment to business priorities. The role requires a strong communicator and servant leader who can balance multiple priorities, foster collaboration, and drive delivery in a technically complex, business-facing environment. You will combine servant leadership, program-level orchestration, and hands-on technical acumen to help teams deliver predictably—particularly when new application components, environments, and integration rails must be created to support client-facing and business-operations-facing interactions. MUST HAVE (non-negotiable) Qualifications • 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in a technical environment., • Strong understanding of Agile principles and frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, etc.)., • Experience working with BI and data wrangling tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)., • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and stored procedures for querying and transforming data., • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and tools, particularly:, • AWS Redshift, • Tableau, • AWS SageMaker, • (Power BI experience is a plus), • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with both technical and business stakeholders., • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and teams simultaneously., • Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps. Preferred Qualifications • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent., • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry., • Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and secure transmission protocols. Key Responsibilities Agile Leadership & Team Enablement • Serve as Scrum Master for two cross-functional Agile teams, facilitating all Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives)., • Lead and Coach one or more teams through Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Reviews, and Retrospectives, driving focus, flow, and continuous improvement., • Remove impediments and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability., • Reinforce Scrum/SAFe practices, working agreements, and DoR/DoD for quality and predictability., • Track team metrics and use data to improve team performance and delivery predictability., • Review scrum team metrics and drive continuous improvement ideas into adoption., • Improve engineering hygiene, story quality, WIP limits, and handoffs., • Own and manage Program Increment (PI) planning for both teams, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals and timelines., • Pre PI: partner with the Product Managers, Architects, Product Owners to align vision, capacity, and priorities; support the Product Owner with backlog readiness., • During PI: facilitate team breakouts, define PI Objectives, and surface cross team dependencies. Prepare PI read out materials for stakeholder review., • Coordinate with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and technical leads to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables., • Manage dependencies across teams and external partners, especially around data exchange timelines and compliance requirements., • Represent the teams in cross functional planning and coordination forums, clearly communicating progress, risks, and needs to leadership and stakeholders., • Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, Business Partners, E2E Testers, and Release Train Leads., • Participate in client and benefits technology partner facing calls, acting as a key liaison to communicate team progress, clarify requirements, and ensure alignment with external expectations., • External Partner & Vendor Engagement – Coordinate with internal and external BenTech partners on milestones, integration contracts, SLAs, and cutovers., • Lead the team through discovery, design, build, test, readiness, release, and stabilization., • Orchestrate environment creation and readiness: provisioning, configuration, access, certs, connectivity., • Facilitate troubleshooting sessions with Platform/SRE/Network/Security teams., • Strong technical acumen in data management and BI solution delivery., • Understanding of data modeling techniques and architectural patterns (star schema, normalized/denormalized models, etc.)., • Experience working with statistical modelers., • Understanding in querying and data access patterns., • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and tools, particularly:, • AWS Redshift, • Tableau, AWS QuickSuite products, • AWS SageMaker, • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development while prioritizing commitments and managing time effectively., • Insurance Industry experience with Disability, FMLA, Life products preferred.
