The Quality Transformation & Excellence organization - Advanced Quality Technologies team is seeking a high energy individual with a strong working knowledge of AI, ML, Model Based Enterprise, full-stack engineering, and advanced manufacturing methods to support the integration of technology systems throughout our various factories. This role will spearhead research & development on machine learning, computer vision, explore and apply state-of-the-art AI techniques to solve mission-critical problems for Quality and partner functions. This includes collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product design and integration across the Lockheed Martin RMS product portfolio. This position also serves as primary AQT liaison for multiple RMS sites, leading technical discussions with internal stakeholders to drive execution and integration of AI/ML tools and visual inspection systems across product quality. Specific responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: • Designs and programs state-of-the-art computer vision pipelines to detect anomalies and defects on manufacturing products, applying modern signal processing and perception techniques., • Recognized algorithm expert with deep expertise in computer vision, generative AI, natural language processing, optical character recognition, robotics, mechanical design, and automated inspection; routinely apply these skills to solve cross line of business or cross-business area challenges., • Builds end-to-end data integration and ML pipelines in Python, MATLAB, and R; delivers prototype and MVP deployments on local & cloud environments; establishes CI/CD pipelines and version-controlled model repositories for enterprise-wide reuse., • Drives execution and integration of Model Based Enterprise digital measurement and AI-enabled visual inspection systems across the RMS Advanced Quality Technologies (AQT) portfolio, improving inspection speed and product quality., • Serves as the primary AQT liaison for several RMS sites, leading inter organizational technical discussions, coordinating with external vendors, and ensuring seamless integration of AI-driven inspection into quality engineer workflows., • Provides mechanical/sub-system design support (SolidWorks, GD&T, additive manufacturing) when required to close gaps in inspection workflows, bridging mechanical engineering knowledge with software centric AI solutions. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or other related discipline, • 3+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML research, computer vision, robotics, or advanced manufacturing, • Demonstrated ability to deliver AI prototypes and MVPs in production environments, • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, R, and at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP), • Ability to learn and communicate both advanced concepts and high level strategy, • Demonstrated team building and interpersonal skills, capable of relationship building with stakeholders and employees at all levels and across multiple geographic locations., • Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or other related discipline, • Experience in computer‑vision pipelines (YOLO, YOLOX, OCR, Llama-4, LLM inference), • Experience deploying AI-enabled systems in multiple environments (e.g. cloud, edge devices), • Experience with CI/CD and model versioning tools (GitLab, lakeFS, Harbor), • Experience with front end publishing tools (Red Hat OpenShift), • Strong foundation in GD&T, SolidWorks/Creo, and additive manufacturing concepts, • Experience with robotic system programming and simulation tools (Unity 3D, ROS, MATLAB Simulink) With our employees as our priority, we provide diverse career opportunities designed to propel, develop, and boost agility.
