Position Summary The HRIS Specialist will own and optimize the company’s human resources systems, data integrity, and reporting infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring accurate employee data, compliant payroll processing, streamlined HR workflows, and actionable reporting for leadership. Relevant experience within hospitality, catering, events, or similarly high-volume, service-based operations is essential for success in this role. The workforce includes variable schedules, event labor, hourly staff, and multiple operational teams, requiring an HRIS professional who understands the realities and pace of event-driven environments. This role combines technical HRIS expertise with practical operational understanding and close collaboration with HR, payroll, operations, and finance. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the primary owner and administrator of the HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring accuracy, security, and efficiency., • Manage the full employee data lifecycle including hires, terminations, job changes, pay updates, and compliance documentation., • Partner with HR and payroll teams to ensure accurate wage calculations, timekeeping integration, and payroll processing across hourly, salaried, and event-based staff., • Build, maintain, and optimize HR workflows for onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and compliance tracking., • Generate recurring and ad hoc reports related to headcount, turnover, labor costs, scheduling, and workforce analytics., • Ensure HRIS and payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local labor regulations, including wage and hour requirements., • Support audits, internal reviews, and leadership data requests., • Train HR and management teams on system usage, reporting tools, and best practices., • Identify system gaps and recommend improvements to support scalability and operational efficiency., • Act as the liaison with HRIS vendors for troubleshooting, upgrades, and system enhancements. Required Qualifications • 4+ years of hands-on HRIS experience within hospitality, catering, events, restaurants, hotels, or other high-volume, service-based operations., • Strong understanding of hourly labor models, event staffing, variable schedules, and multi-department workforces., • Proven experience supporting payroll and HR systems for organizations with 100+ employees., • Advanced proficiency in HRIS and payroll platforms (ADP, Paychex, UKG, Paylocity, or similar)., • Strong Excel and reporting skills, with the ability to translate workforce data into actionable insights., • High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality., • Ability to work cross-functionally with HR, operations, and finance teams in a fast-moving environment., • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities. Preferred Qualifications • Direct experience in catering, events, or multi-venue hospitality operations., • Experience with benefits administration and leave management tracking., • Prior involvement in HRIS implementations or system migrations., • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or a related field preferred.
