Job Description Schedule: Typically 1 hour per week for 10 weeks (after school); exact days/times vary by assignment Location: On-site at a partner school; varies by assignment Start Date: Rolling openings based on school schedules Position Overview Concorde Education is seeking an engaging, student-centered Fitness Instructor to facilitate a short-format after-school enrichment course for students (grade band varies by assignment). This course supports students in developing healthy movement habits, physical literacy, and confidence through structured, age-appropriate activities that prioritize safety, inclusivity, and positive participation. Instruction should be educational and skills-based, aligned with site policies and supervision expectations. This role is not intended to provide medical guidance, diagnosis, or individualized training plans. The instructor will deliver instruction across a typical 10-week cycle, with pacing adapted to student readiness and site logistics. What You Will Teach Students will participate in guided fitness routines and movement-based activities designed to build foundational strength, endurance, coordination, balance, and flexibility in a supportive environment. Lessons may include warm-ups, skill-building circuits, low-impact cardio, bodyweight exercises, mobility work, and games that reinforce teamwork and goal-setting. Major Topics Can Include • Safe movement practices (warm-up/cool-down routines, hydration reminders, listening to the body), • Foundational fitness concepts (endurance, strength, flexibility, balance, coordination), • Age-appropriate bodyweight exercises and movement patterns (squat, hinge, push, pull, core stability), • Cardio and conditioning games (relay formats, stations, interval-style activities), • Flexibility and mobility routines (dynamic stretching, range-of-motion activities), • Fitness goal-setting and habit-building (SMART goals, tracking progress, reflection), • Teamwork and sportsmanship (encouragement, respectful competition, collaboration), • Mind-body wellness connections (breathing, focus, simple stress-management movement routines), • Deliver a 10-session fitness course with clear objectives and structured lesson plans, • Maintain safety-first routines, including appropriate warm-ups, cool-downs, and clear movement expectations, • Differentiate activities to support varied fitness levels, confidence, and mobility needs, • Establish positive group management and inclusive participation norms, • Communicate professionally with site staff and Concorde program contacts regarding attendance and session completion tracking, • Minimum of 60 college credits (or Associate degree in progress/completed), • Experience leading group fitness, physical activity programming, coaching, or youth wellness activities, • Experience working with school-age students in structured settings (school, after-school, camps, youth programs), • Strong facilitation skills, clear communication, and comfort managing active groups safely, • Reliable, punctual, and professional; able to follow school policies and program boundaries, • Ability to model and teach safe form cues and maintain an inclusive, supportive environment
