EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING • The ideal candidate will be service oriented, dependable and reliable, with a strong sense of safety and responsibility for the teaching and care of children and adults., • Previous experience interacting with children is preferred., • Must be 15 or older with reliable transportation to and from work., • Confident in ability to swim and comfortable in the water for long periods of time., • Confident in instructing swim lessons for individuals of all ages and abilities., • Ability to focus for periods of time with attention to detail is essential., • Strong and effective communication skills with the ability and desire to provide quality customer service is essential., • Ability to work independently andcollaboratively as part of a team., • Available to work a flexible schedule including mornings, weekends, and holidays., • Ellis and Associates Lifeguard certified, or willing to become certified within 30 days of hire (training provided by the Glen Ellyn Park District)., • Proficient in MS Outlook or other email system for communication, with aptitude to learn and use other systems/applications., • First Aid and CPR/AED certification required or able to obtain within 30 days of hire. PLEASE NOTE: Applicants under the age of 16 will be required to work within specific parameters and submit a Work Permit prior to starting work. Expectation is that all staff will be available for the entire pool season (or as close as possible) with a limit of one week of absence for a scheduled family vacation or similar that should be discussed at time of hire. Various shift options are available and can be discussed during the interview process.
