Job Description George Fox University seeks a dedicated, faith-driven Assistant Program Director for the new Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practitioner (PMHNP) program. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Program Director to oversee program development, administration, and operations, ensuring alignment with the university's mission and values. About the Job: This 12-month faculty position in the College of Nursing encompasses teaching, scholarship, and service. The role includes curriculum development, student mentorship, faculty collaboration, clinical site coordination, and accreditation compliance. The ideal candidate will integrate Christian faith with nursing education and psychiatric mental health practice while fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Job Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited To: • Assisting the Program Director in implementing and evaluating the DNP-PMHNP curriculum to ensure it meets accreditation standards (CCNE, Oregon State Board of Nursing), • Supporting program assessment, student learning outcomes, and accreditation processes, • Contributing to the development and implementation of program policies, student progression standards, and graduation requirements, • Assisting in faculty recruitment, mentorship, and professional development efforts, • Providing academic advising and mentorship to DNP-PMHNP students, fostering their spiritual, professional, and personal growth, • Collaborating with faculty to develop student-centered strategies that enhance engagement and learning, • Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion by supporting George Fox University's Diversity Commitment Statement and fostering an environment of cultural humility and belonging, • Assisting in developing and maintaining relationships with clinical sites, healthcare systems, and mental health facilities to ensure robust clinical placements, • Supporting the coordination of student clinical experiences and preceptor assignments, • Collaborating with faculty and community partners to provide evidence-based psychiatric mental health nursing education, • Teaching within the DNP-PMHNP curriculum, integrating faith, ethics, and best practices in psychiatric mental health nursing, • Engaging in scholarly activities, including research, presentations, and publications, • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service., • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role., • Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility., • A doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) from an accredited institution, or one in progress., • Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with an active, unencumbered Oregon RN and APRN license., • A minimum of three years of clinical experience in psychiatric mental health nursing., • A commitment to Christ-centered education, with the ability to articulate a personal Christian faith and incorporate Christian values into nursing education and practice., • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills., • The ability to work full-time in person., • A commitment to the University's Theology of Racial and Ethnic Diversity., • A desire to work with a diverse community of students and employees who represent various cultures, backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities, political views, and expressions of Christian faith., • Experience in program administration and accreditation processes., • Experience in nursing education and curriculum development., • Familiarity with online or hybrid nursing education models., • An established scholarly record in psychiatric mental health nursing., • Primary Work Location*: Portland Center (Tigard, Oregon), • Working Conditions: Physical requirements are similar to those of teaching in clinical environments., • Kindly apply through the Careers at George Fox University webpage., • When completing the online application, please upload the following as Word or .pdf documents in the section marked Cover Letter, Curriculum Vitae, and Essay Requirement:, • Letter of Interest, • Curriculum Vitae (CV), • Integration of Faith and Learning Essay, • George Fox University is committed to the idea that one of the primary responsibilities of Christian higher education is to help students develop a uniquely Christian worldview.
