Job DescriptionJob Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician (HVAC) Job Description The Facilities Maintenance Technician (HVAC) supports the maintenance and reliable operation of three campus buildings, with a strong focus on HVAC systems and general facilities upkeep. This role works a day shift schedule and involves hands-on work across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building controls to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment. Responsibilities • Maintain and support all aspects of the three campus buildings, ensuring systems and equipment operate safely and efficiently., • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and related components., • Assist with mid-voltage electrical work, including basic diagnostics and repairs within established safety guidelines., • Support low-voltage and building controls systems, helping to monitor and adjust equipment for optimal performance., • Carry out general facilities maintenance tasks, including mechanical and plumbing work as needed., • Use ladders and boom lifts to access equipment and building areas at height safely and effectively., • Work collaboratively with maintenance and production teams to address facility issues and minimize downtime., • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in industrial and office areas., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, even in hot, dusty, and physically demanding conditions., • Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and techniques under the guidance of experienced technicians.Essential Skills, • Experience or strong interest in HVAC systems and mechanical maintenance., • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, including mid-voltage and low-voltage work., • Exposure to or understanding of building controls and facilities maintenance practices., • Ability to perform basic plumbing and mechanical tasks safely and accurately., • Comfort working at heights using ladders and boom lifts., • Good attitude, with a strong work ethic and reliability., • Willingness to learn, take direction, and work closely with others as part of a team.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Interest in working directly under a Journeyman HVAC technician to develop skills and pursue a Journeyman license., • Desire to gain broad exposure to maintenance, machinery, and diverse skill sets for career advancement., • Openness to transitioning from production or other roles into facilities maintenance., • Motivation to grow into leadership or supervisory positions over time, without a strict requirement for formal degrees.Why Work Here? The role involves regular use of ladders and boom lifts, and work around machinery and building systems typical of an industrial facility. Day shift hours are generally four 10-hour shifts with some Friday work, typically from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a consistent schedule in a hands-on, operational environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NICHOLASVILLE, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
