Position Overview: Food Rescue Delivery Truck Drivers will assist in picking up and delivering surplus, soon-to-expire, or other donated food items from the wholesale market to our community partners. Drivers will primarily do deliveries in our 26-foot refrigerated straight truck where pallets of food donations are loaded via a loading dock and it is the driver's responsibility to safely unload the product at our partnered community organizations. Drivers' hours fluctuate depending on seasonal need and demand. Drivers are required to follow food safety protocols and deliver food to the designated community partner. Drivers will use our custom app to complete their scheduled deliveries. As a SE Food Rescue Delivery Truck Driver, you will be a regular face that our partners welcome and rely on! Responsibilities: • Food Rescue Delivery Box Truck Drivers will assist in picking up prebuilt pallets and deliver them to our many community partners., • Delivery Truck Drivers will also be responsible for picking up bulk donations and delivering them to our warehouse space., • Drivers will primarily do deliveries in our 26-foot refrigerated straight truck where pallets of food donations are loaded via a loading dock and it is the driver's responsibility to safely load and unload the product using the truck's lift gate and pallet jack at our partnered community organizations., • Experience using forklifts is preferred. However, Sharing Excess can provide forklift certification/training as well as riding pallet jack certification/training., • Exceptional customer service skills, as you will be the face and representative of our organization in the field., • Must be 18 years or older, • Must be able to pass DOT physical and drug screening and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), • 2+ years of professional driving experience, • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, • Good vision, hearing, and attention to detail, • Strong interpersonal communication, • Excellent customer service, • Great communication skills, • Time management skills Compensation: • Compensation for this role is paid hourly starting at $22.00 per hour and commensurate with experience. Nature of the Work: The work is typically very physical and demanding, both from strength requirements and the stamina required. Will help customers and delivery personnel load and unload vehicles. You will be a direct assistant to the Warehouse Manager. You will help him/her with whatever is needed on any given day. Working Conditions: Must stand for long periods of time.
