Job Summary The State Initiatives Project Manager works collaboratively across CIVHC’s teams and with external partners to develop project plans, track activities, and ensure accurate, complete, and timely fulfillment of Colorado state government projects. This position coordinates tasks involved in multiple competing projects and maintains open lines of communication between CIVHC analytics teams and the State of Colorado. The role works closely with the Data Solutions Department and the Public Reporting subject matter expert (SME) to provide input and guidance to develop new analytics and enhance existing reports. The State Initiatives Project Manager serves as the project lead, monitoring project progress and hours in CIVHC’s project planning tool, anticipating challenges and mitigating risks, delegating tasks, conducting and participating in regular internal and external project meetings, and ensuring projects are high-quality, accurate, timely, and actionable. Hybrid Work Model This position is based in Denver, Colorado. Because CIVHC operates under a hybrid work model with a requirement of at least one in-office day per week (unless otherwise approved), candidates must reside within a commutable distance to the Denver metro area. Limited relocation assistance may be available for out-of-state candidates who intend to relocate to the Denver area. Duties / Responsibilities / Essential Functions: Responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to: Project Management & Execution • Primary project management lead for State of Colorado projects and deliverables, leading development and execution of annual project plans as well as creating and maintaining detailed project plans for individual projects, • Monitor project progress and hours in CIVHC’s project planning tool, • Collaborate with CIVHC people managers on resource assignments to ensure timely execution of projects and deliverables, and support accurate time tracking, • Coordinate across CIVHC teams and monitor all phases of production to ensure timely and high-quality execution of projects, • Ensure projects are accurate, complete, delivered on time and within budget, and responsive to specifications, • Serve as the secondary point of contact for the State of Colorado, including soliciting input and feedback before, during, and after project completion, • Participate in external and internal discussions to help develop project goals and deliverables that meet State needs, • Lead cross-functional project status meetings and support resolution of barriers to project execution, • Collaborate with CIVHC analysts and external partners to determine appropriate methodologies for State reporting and analytics, • Provide input on appropriate visualizations, format, and documentation to support widespread understanding and use of data, • Continually improve data project management processes to increase efficiencies and documentation Required Skills / Abilities • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple data-focused projects simultaneously, • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make recommendations aligned with customer needs, • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines, • Experience with project planning/project management software, • Exceptional attention to detail, • Ability to develop and execute long-term work plans with multiple partners and overlapping deadlines Required: • Bachelor’s degree in public health, public policy, statistics, business, IT, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in place of a degree, • Three or more years of project or program management experience; certification preferred, • Three years of experience working in a health care or health insurance organization, • Strong project management skills to manage multiple co-occurring projects and contract requirements, • Ability to understand and speak to the needs of diverse health care partners, • Experience with large-scale data sets and analytics; claims data experience preferred, • Experience participating in or leading a Supportive Project Management Office Primarily computer-based work with extended periods of sitting, typing, and concentration. May occasionally require light lifting of office materials. • Sitting for extended periods of time., • Using a computer and keyboard for typing and data entry., • Reaching and stretching to access files or equipment., • Lifting and carrying light objects such as papers or office supplies., • Walking short distances within the office environment., • Operating office equipment such as printers, copiers, and fax machines., • Occasionally bending or stooping to retrieve items from lower shelves or cabinets., • Maintaining good posture to prevent discomfort or strain., • Using a telephone or headset for communication. Target hire date: 07/2026 Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience, education, and internal equity. In addition, this position may be eligible for an organization-wide bonus if certain metrics are met by CIVHC.
