American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Westminster, Colorado. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/18/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 18, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Acute care setting covering a multi-facility float zone centered around Denver, CO (Zone 3), which includes facilities in Lakewood, Longmont, and Westminster, • Float pool encompasses multiple MS/Tele units spanning specialties including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Obs, • Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology post-surgical, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine, • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 based on acuity, • Heparin drip titration required, • Respiratory therapy equipment in use, including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP, • Epic EMR used in this position, • 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a), • 6–9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule, • Schedules are set by leadership on a 6-week cycle; travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill scheduling gaps, • Schedules are released 4–6 weeks in advance; assignments may follow a set weekly facility schedule or a Just-In-Time (JIT) model where the facility is communicated 1–2 hours before shift start, • Floating is required throughout Zone 3; travelers may also be asked to float into other acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS/Tele, • No home base facility — travelers float across all Zone 3 locations, • 13-week contractRequirements, • Active CO RN license or Compact (NLC) license required; pending licenses are not accepted, • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); pending certifications are not accepted, • Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele RN experience required, • Prior neuro experience preferred, • BSN not required, • Valid driver's license required for consideration, • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire, • Candidate's permanent address must be at least 60 miles from the Denver city center (the zone's city center) to qualify for this positionAdditional Information, • Travelers are responsible for securing housing that allows them to float throughout the full 60-mile Zone 3 radius, regardless of where they choose to stay, • Designated charge nurses on each unit; charge nurses typically do not carry a patient assignment, though night shift charge nurses may occasionally take a small patient load, • CNAs are available on the unit, • Orientation consists of 1–2 days with a preceptor (approximately 12 hours); travelers must be on-site in Colorado for the week of orientation even if initial modules are completed remotely, • All time-off requests must be submitted prior to starting the assignment, • Holiday rotation coverage may be required, • Scrubs of any color are accepted With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
