Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/17/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Travel PICU RN – Orange, CA Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)Highlights ✅ First-time travelers welcome ✅ High-acuity, high-volume Level I Pediatric Trauma Center ✅ Work with diverse patient populations from neonates to adolescents ✅ Cutting-edge unit: Conscious sedation, CRRT, ECMO, and more ✅ Collaborative interdisciplinary support (IV team, RT, RRT, social work, pharmacy, etc.) Job Requirements • Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of PICU experience in a high-acuity/high-census facility (Hard Stop), • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, • Charting System: Cerner (Preferred), • Travel Experience: Not required, but preferred if extensions at previous facilitiesSkills Required, • Care of ventilated pediatric patients (birth to 18 yrs), • Arterial line management, central/PICC line care, • CRRT, ECMO, sedation, and hemodynamic monitoring, • Complex diagnoses: neurosurgical, endocrine, cardiac, trauma, oncology, metabolic, and respiratory, • IV therapy, blood product administration, trach/airway management, • Interpretation of ABGs, pediatric dosage calculations, • Exposure to high-acuity pediatric populations is a must Scheduling & Unit Info • Patient Ratio (Weekends): 1:1–2, • Float: Yes – NICU and CVICU primarily, but may float elsewhere, • Call: Not required, • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend, • Scheduling Type: Self-scheduling, • Unit Size: 42 beds, • Holiday Coverage: Must be available for 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)🏥 Facility Details, • Unit: PICU, • Trauma Level: Level I (Preferred experience), • Type: Academic teaching hospital (Preferred experience), • Patient Ages: Neonates – Adolescents, • Support Services Available: RT, RRT, IV team, PT, OT, pharmacy, transport, and more, • Special Procedures: Lumbar puncture, intubation support, chest tube, BiPAP/CPAP, TPN/lipids, vaccine administration, etc.🛑 COVID-19 & Flu Policy, • COVID-19 Vaccine: Required (Medical/Religious Exemptions Accepted) Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
