Job DescriptionBronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. From toddlers to seniors, we feed, shelter, teach, and support our neighbors to build a stronger community. Across our 60+ locations, we provide programs in a variety of service areas, including workforce development, children, youth, families, seniors and homeless prevention. RESPONSIBILITIES • Serve as a community representative of BronxWorks and the Cross Bronx Community Services Program, serving Murphy Houses and BaychesterHouses, • Conduct outreach and community engagement efforts to recruit new participants, • Provide case management and support services to residents at Baychester and Murphy Houses and surrounding community in the areas of case management, workforce development, financial literacy, health & wellness, youth programming and other projects., • Provide assistance with case management needs, including wraparound services, income supports, job readiness assistance (i.e. resume building, mock interviews, workshops, etc.), • Responsibilities include screening and assessing client needs and developing strategic interventions as part of the service plan, • Manage required caseload of program participants, • Recommend and implement strategies to encourage client participation throughout all processes., • Provide accurate data and documentation for required program reports on a weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual basis., • Assist to conduct outreach activities (i.e., flyering, tenant association meetings, community events, etc.), • Assist in the preparation of all activities (i.e. bulletin board, monthly calendar of events, holiday events, etc.), • Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe, respectful, and inclusive manner., • Must be reliable, able to multi-task and flex schedule based upon program needs., • Adhere to the agency and funder policies, principles, and procedures, • Ensure program meets contractual goals and reporting requirements., • At minimum, a high school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred. In lieu of a degree, 2 years relevant work experience, preferably in the social service field., • Bi-lingual fluency in Spanish preferred., • Excellent organizational skills, time management and keen attention to detail, • Ability to handle multiple tasks/situations simultaneously, • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, • Must be culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse backgrounds, self-motivated and able to handle sensitive client information confidentially., • Demonstrated ability to work with underserved and specialized populations, • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, etc.), • Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required., • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods, • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time, • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork, • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents, • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation, • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work, • ‘TB Test required with the first 120 days of employment’ for Shelters and Homeless Outreach programs BronxWorks seeks to build an inclusive organization grounded in respect for differences.
