Job DescriptionJob Title: Wiring TechnicianJob Description The Wiring Technician assembles and wires electrical components for industrial equipment, control panels, and machinery in accordance with schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications. This position ensures that all electrical assemblies are accurate, safe, and compliant with internal standards and applicable regulations, supporting reliable and high-quality production in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and bills of material (BOMs) to understand assembly and wiring requirements., • Wire control panels, junction boxes, and machine assemblies according to engineering specifications and company standards., • Route and terminate wires, cables, and harnesses using proper labeling and identification methods to ensure clarity and traceability., • Install electrical components such as relays, contactors, breakers, terminal blocks, sensors, and switches in control panels and equipment., • Perform point-to-point wiring and panel layout following engineering drawings and established wiring practices., • Crimp, strip, cut, solder, and terminate wires using appropriate hand and power tools to create secure and reliable connections., • Conduct continuity tests and basic electrical troubleshooting using a multimeter to verify proper operation and identify issues., • Identify and correct wiring errors, assembly issues, and discrepancies in components or layouts to maintain quality standards., • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations by following 5S standards and housekeeping practices., • Follow company safety policies and OSHA electrical safety requirements, including proper use of lockout/tagout procedures., • Document completed work accurately and notify supervisors of any discrepancies in drawings, materials, or specifications., • Rotate between job duties as needed to support workflow, production demands, and team coverage across different tasks.Essential Skills, • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and bills of material (BOMs)., • Hands-on experience with wiring control panels, junction boxes, and machine assemblies., • Proficiency in routing and terminating wires, cables, and harnesses with proper labeling and identification., • Experience installing electrical components such as relays, contactors, breakers, terminal blocks, sensors, and switches., • Skill in performing point-to-point wiring and panel layout based on engineering drawings., • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for crimping, stripping, cutting, soldering, and terminating wires., • Ability to conduct continuity tests and perform basic electrical troubleshooting using a multimeter., • Experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, and panel building in an industrial or manufacturing setting., • Capability to identify and correct wiring errors and assembly issues to maintain quality and safety., • Familiarity with company safety policies and OSHA electrical safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures., • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints for assemblies involving gearboxes and related components., • Willingness to rotate between job duties to support workflow and team coverage.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working with gearboxes and mechanical assembly in conjunction with electrical systems., • Background in building and wiring industrial control panels and panel boards., • Comfort working with both hand and power tools in a production environment., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and high-quality electrical assemblies., • Organizational skills to maintain 5S standards at the workstation., • Effective communication skills to document work and report discrepancies in drawings or materials.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based at a manufacturing site where industrial equipment, control panels, and machinery are produced. The Wiring Technician works in a hands-on production environment using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment such as multimeters. Work involves collaboration with other production team members, rotating among different wiring and assembly tasks to support overall workflow and coverage. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Union, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
