Job DescriptionSalary: $12-16 APPRENTICE INSTALLER Reporting Structure: • Reports to: Field Superintendent, • Indirect Reports to: Foreman or Senior Installer, • Job Grade: E1, • Job Code: 10, • Job Classification: Daily / Hourly Pay, • Salary Band: $19,500.00 ($9.38/hr) - $40,500.00 ($19.47/hr) The Apprentice Installer supports the successful installation of commercial flooring systems under the guidance and supervision of the Foreman and Senior Installers. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals interested in learning a skilled trade, gaining hands-on experience, and building a long-term career in the flooring industry. The Apprentice assists with job site preparation, installation tasks, and cleanup while receiving on-the-job training in installation techniques and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with removing old flooring and preparing surfaces for new installation., • Learn to read and understand basic blueprints and floor plans., • Support the installation of commercial flooring materials, including carpet, vinyl, laminate, wood, and resilient flooring., • Follow directions from the Lead Installer to meet project specifications and quality standards., • Help transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area., • Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, contractors, and clients as needed., • 02 years of experience in flooring, construction, or related fields (preferred but not required)., • Willingness to learn, take direction, and work as part of a team., • Able to lift 6070 pounds and perform physical tasks such as kneeling, lifting, and standing for long periods., • Dependable with reliable transportation to job sites., • Read blueprints, project plans, and site specifications to properly install selected flooring solutions for their specified projects., • Sand, clean, and remove existing flooring to ensure all new products can be installed properly and according to company quality standards., • Comfortable with learning how to install a wide variety of flooring products such as carpet, wood, laminate, vinyl, and soft flooring., • Collaborate with the Lead Installer to provide change order information and possible timeline impacts., • Communicate effectively with field internal and external stakeholders such as other RFS staff, general contractors, clients, vendors, etc., • Assess site materials and ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are available to execute the project plan., • Previous Industry Experience, • 1 - 3 years of flooring installation experience., • Comfortable with learning new installation techniques and how to handle different materials and products., • Comfortable communicating with general contractors, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders as required., • Strong work ethic and willingness to grow in the trade., • Solutionist Mindset, • Attention to detail and pride in workmanship., • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and adapting to job site needs., • Respectful, safety-conscious, and professional in all interactions.
