Job Description Job Title: Parts Specialist Job Description This role focuses on shipping and receiving parts, materials, cores, and equipment while accurately replenishing inventory in the computer system. You will verify that all incoming and outgoing items meet regulatory and company standards for quality, documentation, and traceability, including part numbers, serial numbers, and shelf life. The position also involves performing shelf life audits, conducting cycle counts, and supporting inventory control processes in a fast-paced aviation-related environment located at Teterboro Airport, NJ. Responsibilities • Ship and receive parts, materials, cores, and equipment in a timely and accurate manner., • Replenish inventory in the computer system, ensuring all transactions are entered correctly., • Inspect incoming packages to verify there is no visible damage to parts, materials, or equipment., • Verify that all items received comply with federal regulations and company policies regarding quality, documentation, and traceability., • Confirm that part numbers, serial numbers, and shelf life information are accurate and complete for each item., • Perform regular shelf life audits to ensure parts and materials remain within usable time limits., • Conduct cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels and identify discrepancies., • Handle parts and materials safely and efficiently in a warehouse and hangar environment., • Use SAP or similar inventory control systems to manage stock levels and track parts movement., • Collaborate with internal teams to support parts availability, order status, and inventory needs., • Provide courteous and professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders., • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, when qualified and required (particularly for Level III)., • Follow all safety procedures, including hazmat handling requirements when applicable., • Maintain organized storage areas for parts and materials to support efficient retrieval and inventory control., • Support compliance with DOT and IATA regulations once certifications are obtained. Essential Skills • 1–2 years of experience working with aircraft parts or auto parts., • Proficient computer skills for data entry and inventory management., • Experience with inventory control, stocking, and cycle counts., • Ability to perform accurate computer data entry for parts and materials., • Strong attention to detail to verify part numbers, serial numbers, and shelf life., • Customer service skills to support internal and external stakeholders., • Verifiable high school diploma., • Willingness and ability to obtain DOT certification., • Willingness and ability to obtain IATA certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience handling parts and materials in a warehouse or hangar environment., • Experience with SAP or similar inventory management software., • Aerospace experience for more advanced (Level III) responsibilities., • Forklift operating experience for Level III roles., • Understanding of specific SAP software used in aerospace inventory environments., • Hazmat training, particularly for Level III responsibilities., • Comfort working with structured procedures and regulatory requirements., • Ability to work consistently on 2nd or overnight shifts. Work Environment The role is based indoors at a hangar facility located at Teterboro Airport, NJ. You will work in a warehouse and hangar setting that involves handling parts and materials, using computer systems such as SAP, and performing inventory control tasks. The position offers multiple shift options, including 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) and overnight shifts (10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.) on schedules such as Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday, with shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts. The dress code consists of a T-shirt, work pants, and boots, suitable for an industrial and aviation-related environment. You may use material handling equipment, including forklifts for Level III roles, and will work under established safety procedures, including hazmat-related requirements where applicable. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlstadt, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
