Job DescriptionDescription: The Licensed Psychologist at Kelberman is part of a therapeutic team and is primarily responsible for identifying and diagnosing developmental and behavioral issues in children, adolescents, and adults. The Licensed Psychologist assesses various domains of an individual’s functioning, utilizing various assessment tools, and analyzes evaluation outcomes to aid in gaining diagnostic clarity and inform treatment planning for individuals. The Licensed Psychologist may also engage in the development and implementation of treatment plans through the provision of behaviorally based therapeutic modalities, as well as provide supervision for Master’s level clinicians and undergraduate/graduate students in training, as well as engage in research related activities. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Activities include but are not limited to the following: • Select, administer, score, and interpret psychological and neuropsychological assessment measures (e.g., intelligence, social-communication skills, personality, behavior, educational achievement, vocational interests, and adaptive functioning)., • Complete detailed documentation and evaluation reports, per appropriate agency and regulatory standards that summarize the assessment process and key findings, as well as provide recommendations to assist in treatment planning and service eligibility requirements for individuals., • Summarize assessment findings and recommendations directly with patients and families., • Provide individual or group therapy if agreed upon by the provider, Clinic Director, and Chief Clinical Officer, to include development of treatment plan and goals per agency and regulatory standards., • Provide long-term follow-up care for patients and families as appropriate., • Provide clinical supervision and training to Master’s level clinicians (e.g., LMSW), • Provide clinical supervision and training to undergraduate, graduate, and/or medical students, as well as pre- and post-doctoral interns., • Develop and implement trainings for agency staff, student interns, and community partners when appropriate., • Participate in a multi-disciplinary team as appropriate and necessary for programmatic needs., • Collaborate with the clinical team regarding referral review, scheduling of patients, review and revision of programmatic policies and procedures as requested and appropriate., • Participate in 1:1 meetings with the Clinic Director, regularly clinical operations meetings, and departmental meetings as scheduled., • Initiate, participate in, and disseminate research projects that align with best-practice and ethical standards, in agreement with the Chief Clinical Officer., • Maintain positive communication between supervisors and employees., • Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and Agency regulations and operating standards., • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality., • Exercise tact, discretion and judgment in working with a variety of people, • Displays flexibility and openness in daily work and encourages others to stay open to change and improvement., • Demonstrates and promotes respect toward coworkers and adapts behaviors to work effectively with varying people and situations., • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted., • Job related tasks may involve possible exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue or spills or splashes from these substances. Must be able remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time., • Must be able to bend, twist, reach., • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds., • Doctoral Degree in Psychology plus NYS licensure, • 1 – 3 years of related experience., • Basic Computer Skills (Windows, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word and Excel)., • This position has regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with individuals receiving services and is required by law to be fingerprinted for a criminal history record check under OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) or OMH (Office of Mental Health)., • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted., • Must have a valid NY State Driver’s License. The successful candidate will be expected to: • Serve as primary contact for all Fiscal Intermediary related matters associated with participants entering or leaving the service., • Complete intake process with each participant/Designees/COS to review SD program requirements and expectations prior to acceptance., • Communicate effectively with each Participant/Designees/COS to mediate any issue requiring their collaboration., • Conduct launch meeting for Participants to utilize fully approved budget/services., • Conduct exit interviews for Participants notifying FI of intent to leave service with RCIL to attempt to mediate resolution and to obtain feedback and suggestions for program improvement., • Support new SD Participants with dense communication/trainings to ensure full understanding of program, as well as utilization of tools, resources and systems., • Act as liaison between Participant/Designees/COS with implementation of plan/budget to ensure compliance with all applicable SD rules and regulations. Teach utilization of Electronic Health Record (EHR) system., • Interface directly with new Support Brokers to assist with SD program development and growth., • Write Staff Action Plans and upload into electronic system if needed., • Review and distribute monthly budget reports within required timeframe., • Monitor monthly budget expenditures to ensure Participant does not exceed approved SD budget., • Attend mandatory annual Life Plan meetings and complete required notes for file., • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications for preparation of documents, spreadsheets and data management using Excel. Sensitivity and awareness of issues related to cultural diversity. Strong knowledge of the SD program and supporting departments, SD rules and regulations, human services, OPWDD regulations, Medicaid, disability awareness, Independent Living Philosophy, and case management is required., • Excellent computer skills are required. Excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail, problem solving, excellent organization, time management, and ability to work with a diverse population of individuals is required.
