Job Details Product and Market Background Candidates should have hands-on experience selling plastic materials such as engineering thermoplastics and high-performance polymers, including sheet, rod, tube, film, and machined components. Familiarity with materials like acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, UHMW, nylon, acetal, PTFE, PEEK, and other high-temperature or chemical-resistant plastics is strongly preferred. Exposure to value-added services such as CNC machining, fabrication, cutting, and kitting is highly desirable, as is experience supporting regulated or specification-driven environments. Required Experience and Qualifications • 3+ years of outside B2B sales experience within plastic distribution or engineered materials, • Proven success selling into industrial, manufacturing, aerospace, medical, semiconductor, or energy markets, • Strong territory management and consultative selling skills, • Ability to read basic technical drawings and understand customer specifications, • Experience working with pricing strategies, margin management, and long sales cycles, • Manage and grow a territory through a mix of new customer acquisition and expansion of existing accounts, • Prospect, qualify, and close new opportunities with manufacturers, machine shops, fabricators, and OEMs, • Build strong relationships with engineers, purchasing managers, and operations leaders, • Identify customer applications and recommend appropriate plastic materials and fabrication solutions, • Prepare quotes, negotiate pricing, and manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through delivery, • Collaborate with inside sales, operations, and fabrication teams to ensure accurate order execution, • Track activity, pipeline, and forecasts using CRM tools, • Stay current on product offerings, market trends, and competitive materials Interested in hearing more?
