Job Description Description The Workforce Manager supports Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology’s Workforce & Economic Development Center (WEDC) by overseeing four workforce training programs based at Esperanza Tec Centro in Philadelphia. This part-time, hybrid role ensures effective program delivery, instructor support, and student success. The Manager serves as the primary liaison with Esperanza staff, employers, and students, ensuring that program goals, outcomes, and quality standards are met. Examples of Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Oversee the daily operation of four workforce training programs delivered at Esperanza Tec Centro., • Supervise and support program instructors, ensuring instructional quality and alignment with College expectations., • Serve as the main liaison between Thaddeus Stevens College and Esperanza staff to coordinate logistics, scheduling, and program needs., • Monitor student progress and assist with resolving academic concerns in collaboration with instructors and College staff., • Track and maintain program supplies, equipment, and inventory., • Ensure program goals, outcomes, and quality assurance benchmarks are achieved., • Collect and report program performance data as requested by WEDC leadership., • Establish and maintain employer connections to support student employment pathways and strengthen industry partnerships., • Support enrollment, retention, and completion initiatives at the site level., • Maintain compliance with all College policies and procedures, • Develop continuous improvement activities that support the College’s strategic goals, • Implement innovative strategies to support the College’s strategic goals, • Work collaboratively with instructors, staff, and students in an all-inclusive manner, • Demonstrate a commitment to Mission of the College, • Provide oversight and support to program instructors. Conduct annual instructor evaluations and classroom observations., • Facilitate communication and problem-solving between instructors and WEDC leadership. Typical Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook), • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills., • Excellent customer service skills., • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail., • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills., • Strong supervisory and leadership skills., • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate., • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment., • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software., • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service, • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices, • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff., • Experience managing workforce, education, training, or economic development programs, • Experience working with industry partners in skilled trades, manufacturing, healthcare, IT, or related sectors, • Experience with grant-funded programs, reporting, and audits, • Supervisory or team-lead experience, • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards., • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, • Conditions may require walking, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting (less than or equal to 50 pounds), high climbing, bending, working in awkward positions handling equipment and materials., • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone, • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer., • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.Company DescriptionThaddeus Stevens College of Technology is an acclaimed residential two-year college accepting students from throughout the state of Pennsylvania as well as veterans, members of the armed forces, and their families.
