American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 10/27/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a hospital ED setting with 43 ED beds and 20 boarding beds, • Patient population includes trauma, cardiac, stroke, respiratory, GI disorders, and mental health cases, • Common diagnoses include GSW, stabbings, MVA, heart failure, COPD, and others, • RN patient ratio is up to 1:5, dependent on acuity, • Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, • Weekend rotation every other weekend required, • Travelers are required to work 75% of holidays, • No on-call or call back obligations, • Will float as needed within Region 1 facilities, which include multiple hospitals and freestanding EDs, • EPIC EMR system is used, • Uses Philips monitors, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing, • Primary duties include providing care for diverse high-acuity ED and boarding patients, • No monitoring tech support; nurses are responsible for telemetry reading and response, • Support from CNAs, charge nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, phlebotomists, and IV/VAT teams available, • All travelers must be open to floating to multiple sites within region based on needs, • First-time travelers may be considered but are not preferred, • Initial orientation includes facility NEO and two days of departmental training, • Navy scrubs are required, • Free parking is available onsite, • Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with contract extension as needed to meet hours\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NC or compact RN license required, • Minimum 2 years of recent ED RN experience required, • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI, • TNCC preferred, • Proficiency with trauma, stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and conscious sedation, • Skill with PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, and critical care infusions, • Experience with EPIC EMR preferred, • Must live at least 50 miles from the assigned facility\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
