Job Description ABOUT THE COMPANY American GI Forum - National Veterans Outreach Program is a nonprofit organization. SUMMARY: This position is responsible for receiving, unpacking, arranging and storing goods, and gathering, packing, preparing and loading goods for dispatching; checking stock for damage and wear; reporting faults and discrepancies to relevant parties; marking and labeling stock. Will need to make in town and out of town deliveries. Work hours are M-F, 7 am to 3:30 pm. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensures cleanliness, tidiness and safety of work environment., • Safely operate vehicles to deliver and puck up goods from warehouses., • Loads and unloads products from delivery vehicles, insuring accurate inventory handling and proper storage., • Inspects and maintain the delivery vehicles to ensure it is in good working condition and complies with safety regulations., • Accepts delivery of inventory., • Ensures cleanliness, tidiness and safety of work environment., • Inspects inventory for damage and faults., • Communicate errors to relevant parties., • Marks and labels stock., • Stores inventory in an accessible manner., • Loads and wraps stock on pallets., • Performs other related duties as assigned by management., • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., • Must have a TX driver license.QUALIFICATIONS:, • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience., • Forklift Certification preferred; not required., • Work experience as a general laborer, preferably in a warehouse., • Ability to operate forklift proficiently., • Completion of background investigation and drug screening., • Strong people skills., • Good moral character., • Physically strong, agile and dexterous, and undeterred by heights and adverse climatic conditions., • Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance. Primarily local during business day although some out-of-area travel may be expected via airline or automobile based on the discretion of management. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this position, the employee will conduct office work, meet with clientele, and team members, and at times travel offsite to conduct business. Employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions. Employee will also be required to work in varied office and residential environment based on assigned caseload. Employee will be able to handle and de-escalate situations that may arise while at work.
