Job Description WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU • Competitive Salary, • Flexible working hours, • Daily Pay Advance Option Available, • Holiday Pay (when working on a major holiday), • Sick time pay accrual, • Paid Time Off, • Health, Dental, Vision, and MorePOSITION SUMMARY The Director of Environmental Services is responsible for managing the day-today activities of the Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry Departments in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Inspects the facility on a regular basis to ensure that grounds, buildings and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean, attractive, efficient and fully operational manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures. Ensures that all hazardous areas are properly, • Inspects, maintains and tests fire alarm and emergency systems in accordance with established policies and procedures. Maintains appropriate records of test, • Establishes and implements an effective preventive maintenance program of cleaning, painting, maintaining facility equipment, etc., as needed. Establishes a priority system for unscheduled maintenance., • Maintains the heating and cooling units/systems in proper working condition, as specified by the manufacturer. Prior to the onset of seasonal changes, this position inspects the systems for loose wires, broken lines, leaks, etc., and pre-start unit/system to ensure it is in proper working, • Maintains disaster preparedness manual. May conduct fire and/or disaster drills and Ensures that there are adequate emergency supplies on hand., • Requisitions, controls, and maintains an adequate level of required maintenance supplies and equipment from approved vendors. Replaces equipment as necessary and, • Ensures that all equipment is maintained in proper working, • Reports the following in accordance with established facility procedures and regulatory standards: accidents and incidents; resident grievances, complaints, allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property; occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals; concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance including but not limited to hazardous conditions and equipment., • Ensures adherence to state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures; HIPAA confidentiality standards of resident and facility information; Infection Control, Universal Precautions, OSHA and safety standards; established safety precautions and regulations in the performance of tasks and the use of equipment and, • Participates in and/or leads on-the-job training, in-service education and orientation programs; attends OSHA and CDC in-service training programs for hazardous communication, TB management, and bloodborne pathogens standard; serves on various committees as required by existing regulations or as appointed by, • Works with facility consultants as necessary and implements recommended changes as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or equivalent, • 1-3 years' related experience required; previous supervisory experience in acute or long-term care environment, • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics,, • Knowledgeable in building codes, safety regulations, maintenance practices and, • Must be licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws,, • Ability to plan and carry out programs in repair, new construction, and equipment, • Ability to understand, control and track direct spending and labor, • Demonstration of mechanical aptitude via completion of trade school, mechanical apprenticeship, trade license, and/or industrial mechanical work, • Certification with HVAC, • Align with the Organization's mission and values, delivering high-quality, person-centered care with dignity, respect, compassion, and, • Ability to interact professionally with residents, families, staff, and the public, and handle challenging situations with, • Understanding and adherence to relevant regulations, policies, and, • Effective team member with strong communication and cooperation, • Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet, • Follow instructions, accept feedback, and function well in a dynamic The knowledge, skills, abilities described in this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
