About the Role We are hiring a Network Engineer II to support, maintain, and evolve ASI's network infrastructure across corporate environments and autonomous technology operations. This role ensures high availability, security, scalability, and performance of networking systems that support internal teams, customer deployments, and field validation efforts. Engineers collaborate closely with IT, security, robotics, and systems teams. Scope expands by level from foundational operational support (Level I), to independent ownership of network systems and improvements (Level II), to enterprise architecture leadership and advanced security implementation (Level III). This role is based in Mendon, Utah, and may require occasional support of field deployments or remote sites. Job DutiesNetwork Operations & Infrastructure • Maintain and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless systems, and related infrastructure, • Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability across environments, • Troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and performance issues, • Install, configure, and upgrade network hardware and software, • Support secure connectivity for remote teams and deployed systems, • Assist with firewall configuration, patching, and security updates, • Implement and maintain VPN access controls and segmentation strategies, • Support security monitoring, vulnerability mitigation, and incident response, • Contribute to network performance improvements and infrastructure upgrades, • Assist with scripting or automation of routine network tasks, • Participate in system upgrades and infrastructure modernization efforts, • Work closely with IT, security, engineering, and operations teams, • Escalate complex issues appropriately (Level I) or resolve independently (Level II/III), • Adapt to changing priorities based on deployment schedules and business needs, • 0-3 years of experience in networking, IT support, or infrastructure roles, • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience), • Foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and routing basics, • Exposure to routers, switches, firewalls, or wireless systems, • Basic troubleshooting and documentation skills, • Entry-level certifications preferred (CompTIA Network+, CCNA), • Ability to follow established procedures and grow technical expertiseNetwork Engineer II, • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, IT infrastructure, or cybersecurity, • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience), • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto), • Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, and enterprise networking concepts, • Experience managing firewalls, VPNs, and network security tools, • Familiarity with network monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark), • Basic scripting or automation knowledge (Python, PowerShell) preferred, • Certifications preferred: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent, • Ability to independently manage moderately complex network systemsNetwork Engineer III, • 10+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or network security roles, • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, • Expertise in enterprise networking (routing, switching, MPLS, SD-WAN), • Deep knowledge of network security frameworks and advanced security architecture, • Experience implementing IDS/IPS, Zero Trust architecture, and disaster recovery strategies, • Hands-on experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP), • Strong proficiency in network automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform), • Experience leading infrastructure projects and mentoring engineers, • Certifications preferred: CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent, • Ability to design and own enterprise-level network architecturePreferred Qualifications, • Experience supporting robotics, automation, or field-deployed systems, • Exposure to hybrid cloud and on-prem network environments, • Experience implementing network segmentation in high-security environments, • 401K Retirement Plan, • PTO and Holiday Pay, • Medical, Dental, Vision Plans, • Life Insurance Options Your employment with ASI will be at-will, meaning that either you or ASI may terminate your employment at any time for any reason, with or without cause.
