Job DescriptionJob Title: WelderJob Description This role focuses on performing high-quality MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum components used in electrical and structural assemblies. You will contribute to the fabrication of sub-assemblies and final assemblies in a busy manufacturing environment that produces reels, conductor bar, festoon systems, and related industrial equipment. Responsibilities • Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum parts for electrical and structural sub-assemblies and final assemblies., • Carry out various fit-up tasks, including aligning, positioning, and securing components prior to welding., • Execute tack welding and final welding operations in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards., • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to determine weld locations, dimensions, and assembly requirements., • Set up and operate welding equipment, including arc welders, spot welders, and cutting torches., • Use clamps, bolts, jigs, vice grips, and welding fixtures to hold workpieces in place and maintain proper alignment during welding., • Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to safety and production standards, making adjustments as needed., • Follow established safety procedures to work safely in a machine shop environment with fumes, heat, and high noise levels., • Collaborate with production and fabrication teams to meet daily output and quality goals., • Support weekend production needs when required to meet manufacturing schedules.Essential Skills, • Proven MIG and TIG welding experience on stainless steel and aluminum, typically 2+ years., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings accurately., • Hands-on experience performing fit-up, tack welding, and final welding on structural and electrical assemblies., • Proficiency using welding tools and equipment such as arc welders, spot welders, cutting torches, clamps, bolts, jigs, vice grips, and fixtures., • Knowledge of welding techniques and practices that ensure strong, clean, and precise welds., • Understanding of safe work practices in a machine shop environment, including working around fumes and high noise., • Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality in a fast-paced production setting.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • 3–5 years of welding experience or completion of an associate degree or welding certification program., • Experience welding stainless steel, aluminum, and steel in flat positions, including 3G position., • Valid welding certifications for stainless steel, aluminum, and steel in flat 3G position are a plus., • Certification that covers Heli Arc, TIG, gas-shielded, and stick welding is highly desirable., • AWS (American Welding Society) certification preferred but not required., • Openness to candidates who are recent graduates from welding school, provided they demonstrate strong foundational skills., • Strong blueprint reading skills and familiarity with fabrication processes.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a large manufacturing and machine shop environment with extensive fabrication and welding operations. You will work primarily on a first shift schedule, from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with Monday through Thursday hours also noted as 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM depending on production needs. Weekend work may be involved based on demand. The facility houses equipment such as arc welders, spot welders, cutting torches, and a variety of fixtures, clamps, and jigs. The environment is typical of a busy machine shop, with exposure to welding fumes, heat, and significant noise levels. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required, and practical work attire suitable for welding and fabrication work is expected.
