Job Purpose and Scope The Jewelry & Handbags Education Director is responsible for leading, developing, and executing all education and training initiatives for the jewelry and handbags teams. The ideal candidate is a leader who translates training content into impactful store-level coaching that drives sales and elevates the customer experience. This role connects learning strategy with execution, inspiring associates to build product expertise and deliver exceptional results in handbags and jewelry. Essential Job Functions • Design, launch, update, and drive all training programs for jewelry and handbags, including building new content from scratch and refreshing existing materials., • Develop and maintain trend and product knowledge modules on the Learner Mobile platform, ensuring it remains a valuable, engaging tool that inspires teams to invest in their own growth., • Consistently innovate new ways to educate and communicate with stores, utilizing both in-person and virtual facilitation at an exceptional level., • Analyze performance analytics to identify stores in need of additional support and tailor training interventions accordingly., • Demonstrate strong business acumen, advanced Excel skills, and creative design abilities to develop impactful and visually appealing training resources., • Set and meet project deadlines while effectively managing daily tasks and requests to ensure continuous progress., • Embrace a growth mindset—fail fast, learn fast, and take calculated risks to drive innovation in education., • Collaborate closely with buyers and vendors to stay ahead of new product launches, developing timely training content and ensuring alignment with Dillard’s standards and language., • Partner with vendors to deliver high-quality training to stylists and meet company expectations., • Travel as needed to understand the communication and learning challenges faced by stylists and area sales managers, adapting programs to support their success and enhance customer service., • Lead by example with a relentless focus on elevating the customer experience and driving sales., • Work in partnership with the Jewelry/Handbag Director to identify practical training needs and emerging trends or patterns in stores., • Maintain and oversee all certification programs for Jewelry/Handbags., • Demonstrate flexibility in working hours, including extended hours when necessary to meet deadlines and maintain momentum., • Serve as a visionary for the education function, proactively anticipating and addressing the evolving needs of the business and its teams., • Grow the business to $750 million., • Meet turn rate goals consistently., • Maintain a gross margin over .45+. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Experience creating digital and in-person training programs, • Proven success in designing content that drives sales performance, • Familiar with adult learning principles and learning technologies (e-learning tools like Learner Mobile and Canva for training design), • Strong writing and storytelling ability, • Experience writing educational content, scripts, and building out training materials, • Strong growth mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous learning, • Advanced skills in Excel and creative/design software, • Ability to set and meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities, • Excellent communication, facilitation (in-person and virtual),, • Analytical mindset to measure training impact, • Willingness to travel and work extended hours when required, • Track record of building and sustaining high-performing teams Note: This description is not an exhaustive list of all job functions, duties, skills, and job standards required.
