Job DescriptionHVAC Test Laboratory Engineering Technician Allied Air Enterprises, a division of Lennox International, unites seven trusted comfort brands—Armstrong Air, AirEase, Concord, Ducane, Allied, Allied Commercial, and Magic‑Pak—to power residential and commercial HVAC solutions at scale. A day in this role Morning starts with instrument checkouts and calibrations. You’ll wire up sensors, connect data acquisition, and bring a test unit to life. As the day unfolds, you’ll run performance, reliability, and safety evaluations, troubleshoot electrical issues, capture clean data, and partner with engineers to validate designs. You’ll wrap with an organized bench, accurate logs, and a plan for the next iteration—always with safety and quality front and center. What you’ll do • Assemble and operate lab rigs and HVAC instrumentation per documented test plans., • Execute performance, reliability, and safety testing on complete units and individual components., • Use basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting to support setups and keep equipment running., • Calibrate and perform routine care on sensors, data systems, and test benches., • Capture, analyze, and report results with precision and in alignment with lab standards., • Adhere strictly to lab procedures, safety rules, and quality protocols., • Help diagnose anomalies on units under test and in lab systems., • Keep the lab clean, organized, and audit-ready., • Contribute to continuous improvement for processes, fixtures, and documentation., • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure test integrity and product validation., • Provide technical feedback and data to factory and field partners to boost product performance and reliability. What you’ll bring, • Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field (preferred)., • 1–3 years in HVAC testing, electrical troubleshooting, or technical maintenance., • Hands-on familiarity with HVAC systems, controls, and laboratory instrumentation., • Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and formal test procedures., • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy. Compensation: This is a salaried non-exempt role. This means that employees are paid a salary and also receive overtime pay when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law). The starting salary range for this role and market is between $50,000 - $62,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the Company’s applicable plan.
